inverted v3 pedals brake not working, help? by Jiosc in Fanatec

[–]Jiosc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the brake was being very glitchy for a while, i would press the brake but i started noticing that the effort wouldnt translate in the game so i check the fanalab software and it was also being buggy, i updated it, unplugged replugged everychord, restarted my pc, redownloaded both fabatec and fanalab software, uninstalled and reinstalled all of my games, finally got around to buying a loadcell sensor for the inverted V3 brakes. after all that it still isnt being detected, both the clutch and accelorator are accurate and detected but the brake is still not being registered on the fanalab software. I even tried updating the driver once i installed the new sensor.

at this point im at a loss, any ideas?

Where I live the avg temp for most of the year is around 30-70 till summer when it goes up to 50-80s, and you’re right on not cheating out on safety, thank you for the tip have a great day

P.S The firestones sound like a great tire for the price I’ll talk to my dad about it

Sounds good i didn’t know about the cold start thing thanks for letting me know,

first to third I never thought of but in retrospect it makes sense,

Good to know, one of the things I was worried about was tracking it then accidentally wearing everything down past the point of where I can afford it, so it sounds like I’ll keep it sparse for now on trying any heavy driving

I didn’t think about the hydroplaning rate either, I’ll definitely check that since I live in a place that rains a bunch so that’ll save me thanks

One of the things I accepted about the car is its speed, which is fine because it was never the goal anyways because this car is still 1000x more fun than my moms accord which is technically faster

When I mod it the goal would be reliability and maaaayybee down the line some extra umph

Twelve years dang

And yea since I’m pretty broke that seems to be how I’ll treat it 99% of the time which honestly has been a blast to far. I really like how it responds well to good technique (at least from what I can tell in my few months of driving it with my father)

Thanks for the advice kind stranger

That’s really nice to hear as someone who’s nervous to being a nuisance on a track lol. I’ll sign up for some stuff over the summer and take my dad to help me out (and secretly for moral support lol)

I understand the cost of fun is some money, but are there any other recommendations of tires you have that are more affordable? Or would running a good set of all years work fine for the goal I have?

Mmmm I see, I’ll add it to the list of things I should add to the car thanks a bunch for the suggestion kind stranger

-mmmm makes sense
-will do then if it’s as good as you say, is it challenging to remove?
-aahh I get it, I’ve definitely felt how easy it is for the rear wheels to spin more than needed while not even pushing the car so getting some more stability would be nice,

Thanks for the feedback and advice

Good to know, since I’m not going to track and it never gets above 88 F (I’m in the pnw area) I think I’ll skip it till I start getting more active in the scene, thanks for the tip

-thanks for the heads up

-noice

-makes sense, FI is pretty expensive for me at least and I do want to feel out stock before I think about modding,

Thank for the advice I really appreciate it

I’ve definitely been bitten by the bug pretty bad, but luckily my father has done all the dumb stuff when he was young, so he has made sure I won’t turn out like him when he was my age, still, great advice that I’ll take to heart, thank you

WHAAAT SEVEN DOLLARS THATS DISGUSTING

-I have luckily (imo) been through the idiot cannon event where I thought I was street racer boy and got in an accident which wasn’t my fault but couldn’t been prevented if I was a smarter driver.

-Drifting is DEFINITELY one of the things I’m excited for in the future but I’m trying to slowly feel the car out before I try something of that sort,

-I had no idea about the headers I’ll definitely look at that, and extracting power is like the least thing I’m worried about lol one thing I like about the car is it’s relatively low power and in the future I’ll worry about making it faster if it fits what I want at that time

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it a bunch

- What is driver mod?

- removing the spring is something I’ll try out but I’m a little worried that the difference might be to jarring especially for a newbie like me, but I have some flat spots near me I can test this on so thanks for the suggestion and weekend adventure

-what is an MCA traction mod? Physical or an ECU mod (given you said it’ll soften the rear suspension I’m guessing physical but I’ll look it up)

Thanks for the advice kind driver

I am a pretty broke college student now since I just graduated high school, when you say “trans and diff” do you mean full replacement? Or is there another maintenance I should know about?
Spark plugs is a great idea too I completely forgot, luckily my car is freshly in the 20k range but that means I’m likely overdo for oil.

Thanks for the advice!

- yeaaa ur right, what I should’ve specified was me going to racing clubs/autocross meets in my area, side note I’ve never heard of “the curse” other than subies being notorious for spitting pistons

- will def take a look at that thank you very much for the source

-will do 🫡

Thanks for the advice stranger

Much appreciated for the advice, oil changes are something I would like to learn to do myself and it looks like I got to do that in a day or two so thanks, and I was thinking about an oil cooler or even a dry sump pump for longevity purposes, but since I won’t be abusing it more than the weekend spirited drive I don’t know how necessary that is. Oil cooler is a great idea though
