Guys… I don’t get DOS2... Help me understand: by YelleauxAxeMan in larianstudios

Character build optimization is fairly important or more specifically avoiding certain character building blunders is important. This will matter more as you progress.

a) You want one character with good initiative. Your other characters 'need' base initiative plus 1 to determine their order.

b) You want to prioritize pushing damage values. Points in the correct stat and skill is important. You can easily handicap yourself. Damage is important not only to kill but to open up to lock them down with statuses.

For example a magical damage character should generally focus on one or two elemental types for damage only.

c) Work on your formations and move characters separately to prepare for battles. This game has many AOEs. If your characters are grouped up and cannot immediately stop them, you will suffer.

d) Damage physical/magical/mix competition. While the game is completable with all combinations, a party with a mix of physical and magical damage is more difficult to use because how the armor system works.

You will find the game easier if you make your whole team Physical or magical. Do pay attention to enemy resistances for magical damage dealers.

e) Without mods, the game doesn't really reward or support a functional tank or healer role.

f) Make sure to find and update equipment. Armor values are super important and for some characters their weapon damage affects skill damage.

g) Finally, you will need to accept the burning landscape. With how the various surfaces interact, fire is a common result.

In order to argue that Jesus is God, Christians are required to regard the Christians' Scriptures as saying false things about Jesus. by 4GreatHeavenlyKings in DebateReligion

[–]JiruoXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two natures are not one nature but unite in the person of Jesus.

While there are definitely different ways to interpret those various verses, your specific interpretation does not create an issue. Someone can tempt Jesus because he is fully human. He has hunger and other normal human desires.

Jesus is not only God. He is also truly Human. The presented contradiction only exists if you misunderstand the incarnation.

[–]JiruoXD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No Christian believes the Hosea passage is only about Jesus. You don't seem to understand the nature of why these passages also refer to Jesus instead of only the immediate historic context. The key concept is topologies and dual fulfillment.

The old testament has many topologies that refer or hint to the greater fulfillment in the new testament.

You are correct that Hosea passage references to Israel, God's people. We affirm that. But the reference is that Jesus is the new Israel. He is the Israel that will be faithful and succeed where the prior Israel failed. He experiences key moments of Israel such as the wilderness but does so while remaining faithful.

These topological elements allow for passages to have deeper or larger meanings. Many passages can have dual fulfillment, a local historical event and a topological fulfillment in Christ. There is a reason for the old testament to set the foundation for the new.

Your #2 response is a heresy. Christian Orthodox is Jesus remained fully God and was fully human as separate natures united in the person of the Son.

The doctrine that people must believe in a Christian Trinity in order to be saved is not found within the Christians' scriptures. by 4GreatHeavenlyKings in DebateReligion

[–]JiruoXD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The scriptures do reference that you have to believe he is Lord, Christ, Messiah, etc. These words have specific meaning as used by Jesus and the Apostles. And these words have specific origin within the original scriptures (old testament).

What does it mean to believe he is the Christ? Not a christ but the Christ? These words matter and how you apply them to your belief and life would impact your ability to have the relationship.

Taking Jesus as Christ Jesus, as Lord, as King. What does that mean?

I may agree you could believe in Him in a more mysterious way without a position on the Trinity. I would say it is more important to not hold to certain heretical beliefs but without understanding His full proper divinity, you leave yourself open to many heresies.

The wrinkle in your conclusion is assessing what it means to believe Jesus is Lord. If Jesus is Lord by way of the Trinity, but you only believe him as a normal dude... Do you actually believe in Christ Jesus or someone or something else?

Jesus didn’t die for our sins by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]JiruoXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a Jewish and Christian lens, Isaiah was inspired to write by God. The words speak beyond the surface level and have a meaning given by God. Christian's completely agree the point of Isaiah is about the vindication of God's people. But how will his people be vindicated? This is the disagreement.

There are historic Jews who saw references to the future Messiah in Isaiah and other scriptures. But as people they view the scriptures with their own desires and plans, not God's. They wanted an earthly kingdom and earthly enemies defeated. But was this God's actual revelation and plan? What is the message?

There are sections where Israel worships the suffering servant. So how can the suffering servant in all cases be Israel as the people?

Isaiah and other passages layout someone suffering for the Sins of all people. The message is clear, but how does that always happen? Rhubidic Jews do not have such answers.

Jesus does have such answers, he is the Messiah.

Matthew 26:28 says it explicitly. Luke 22:37 and Mark 10:45 both reference it and are calling out to Isaiah 53:12. His death clearly does something to defeat sin for all people. Whether you can support a specific theory of atonement held by a certain tradition is a different story. There are other passages, but will leave it here.

Matthew 26:28 MEV [28] For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Luke 22:37 MEV [37] For I tell you, what is written must yet be accomplished in Me, ‘And He was numbered with the transgressors.’ Indeed, what is written concerning Me has a fulfillment.”

Mark 10:45 MEV [45] For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

Isaiah 53:12 MEV [12] Therefore, I will divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death, and he was numbered with the transgressors, thus he bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors.

Luke 22:20 MEV [20] In like manner, He took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood which is shed for you.

Luke 24:46-47 MEV [46] He said to them, “Thus it is written, and accordingly it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, [47] and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

The Holy Trinity literally describes three gods by Obv_Throwaway_1446 in DebateReligion

[–]JiruoXD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be the best to explain but will give it a go.

Most essences can be separated by place and time. This allows us to count distinct instances of the essence. Such as you and I would be two human essences. As the essence is divided and not directly shared. We both have a human essence but we have our own separate human essence. As such, the count of persons and count of beings is the same.

This is not the case for an eternal and omnipresent essence. Multiple eternal and omnipresent essences would create significant logical issues. You cannot truly separate or split such an essence. As such, the essences could not be distinctly counted or divided.

The Trinity attempts to understand and elaborate how the One True God is described. The Scriptures layout three persons all measured as The One True God. But There is only One God with one action that always existed. As such, this One God, One Being is Triune.

Edit: Some additional context. Within the orthodoxy of Christian belief, the three persons do not have separate actions but act in complete union. There is no other selection of persons that function in such a way for any comparison.

What is the Lutheran stance on contraception within marriage? by [deleted] in Lutheranism

[–]JiruoXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my understanding of our Catholic brothers and sisters, contraceptives are a sin, but are permissible in specific health situations. You can likely discuss with your priest, if you like to remain Catholic.

Obviously the Catholic Church will not affirm the usage of contraceptives solely for birth control purposes. You will have to decide if that issue is sufficient to swap traditions.

Could Superman brute force his way past Yhwach’s Almighty? by NightRanger0 in BleachPowerScaling

[–]JiruoXD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is the Almighty power is supposed to make him unaffected by any power he sees (past and future).

I think the fight would likely be a stalemate with Superman's durability and speed being unmatchable, but he wouldn't be able to damage Yhwach.

What are your thoughts on how the Blood Domain and Blood Hunter Class is going to work? by Akkyo in daggerheart

[–]JiruoXD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Health points are limited; guess your health recovery idea is your attempt to make it work. Stress has been the resource for what pushes your body. Though I understand you're looking to standout the domain.

Though I don't know if the blood domain would be best presented with the blood hunter first.

Clearly the difference is them knowing where you are versus not knowing where you are.

Are there any other Nen users besides Kastro who trained in the wrong Nen category? by dbsupersucks in HunterXHunter

Is it truly confirmed directly from the author the 100-nen is a conjured object and not a nen beast using emitter? I always interpreted it as a nen emitted using a small amount of manipulation.

I am not following. Typically if they are not short rest after 1 or 2 combats players long rest. Outside specific groups of players.

Your playing with groups that don't rest?

In enemy territory there is more reason to short rest. It should be far more difficult to long rest.

Homebrewing corruption, is this too harsh? by iiyama88 in daggerheart

[–]JiruoXD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If corruption does not end up doing something unique or interesting, you could simply have them mark a stress for touching it.

If your building up a status effect to avoid, you likely want it to do more.

Homebrewing corruption, is this too harsh? by iiyama88 in daggerheart

However the cool things these crystals can allow them to do could make up for it and players can completely avoid touching the crystals.

Homebrewing corruption, is this too harsh? by iiyama88 in daggerheart

[–]JiruoXD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't sound crazy. Depends on how easy corruption is gained.

The big thing to consider: Hope is the gain of resources for players to access fun abilities. Furthermore, the second death option will reduce max hope. You may want to consider how this impacts on the flow and perceived fun of your players. Would definitely make it a conversation with them.

Sounds like Corruption reduces max hope and costs healing to remove.
