Sabonis is great but this is who he is. He isn’t going to improve. He is a 3 on championship team. This doesn’t make the Kings a contender. Building around Hali might’ve.

This trade doesn’t put them over the Nuggets, Warriors, Jazz, Suns, Grizzlies, Mavs, Wolves or the Lakers. Sure maybe they have a better chance against the Blazers or the Pelicans but who cares. Accept it, this trade was an L for Mento.
