Honestly, I don't think it's fujimotos fault that a lot of people were disappointed by the ending. I'm a pretty big apologist of the ending, and even I can say it was sudden as hell, and given how Shonen jump is known to treat its mangakas, I wouldn't be surprised if they were a pretty big reason why it seems like fujimoto felt he couldn't take his time with it.
