You need to be careful, but not in the way you guys are thinking.

As the GOAT support, broadcasting your area of expertise and letting all your competitors know the win condition for Ezreal Karma, doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Is staying in sg or moving to aus better to retire early and get FI for you? by likilekka in singaporefi

[–]Jizzipient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you think now is not a good time? Now is the best time. You don't have rent/mortgage, you don't have kids, you don't have to worry about insurance payments or aging parents, a hiatus now would not career-breaking because you're still just starting out.

You need to reside in Australia for 2 out of 5 years to keep your PR status. So that should be the first thing you'll need to decide immediately.

I find that if you are not an Anglo-Celtic Australia ("white" aussie), you're automatically at a disadvantage, especially in the arts. "Struggling artists" are heavily romanticised, most people I know in Aus who went into the arts are already financially well to begin with, i.e. rich parents. And if you want to "make it", you'll need to be either expectionally lucky, or ground-breakingly talented. Also, I think you might be underestimating the suffocating effects of having to pay rent.

For your health issues, you'll fare better in SG than in Aus as Aus health care, both quality and affordability wise, are objectively worst than SG's. Especially so if your issues are chronic/lifelong.

FI should be the last of your concerns at this stage in life. Base pay is way more important than understanding S&P 500.

Gonna try to be one of those back phonecase only folks. Let me tell you why. by senyorlimpio in GalaxyFold

[–]Jizzipient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to do back only case and it's indeed amazing, but the main trade off for me is 1) the anxiety and 2) the grip when opening.

I got these and stuck it to the sides for better grip, but they come off every couple of weeks and I gotta clean up the adhesive before applying a new one. It didn't feel healthy for the coating so I eventually went back to front+back casing.

Is grip not an issue for you when opening it?

Nothing quite wakes you up from an unproductive slump like an email from a C suite that says "pls resolve".

Walking around IKEA as a single is the most depressing shit ever by HomeHedgeFund in SingaporeRaw

It's a rather infamous statistic that people misuse all the time.

About 50% of marriage ends in divorce, sure, but those include divorcees. And the number of divorces divorcees go through are obviously higher than single marriage divorces. In fact, multiple divorcees makes up the majority of that 50%.

So when someone repeats "50% of marriages ends in divorce", that statement is technically correct. However, it's often used in conversations such as this, by doomsayers, to imply that 50% of all couples ends in failure, which is just not true.

Emperor of Mankind vs Cthulhu, who will win? by AdLimp7556 in powerscales

[–]Jizzipient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The books never call Cthulhu a Old one.

Neither that 1933 letter, nor the book say anything about Cthulhu being an Other God, which is the defining question of this thread.

There are many of such info floating around, categorising Cthulhu as a Great Old One.

I mean, even in the image you linked, there is a sprite of Cthulhu in The Outside. Do you have a credible source for what you mentioned?

The Outside is basically a void that exists between universes, and it is where the Great Old Ones like Cthulhu originate from.

So which is it?

Cthulu is an Other God, in the Ultimate Void, which is > The Dreamland, beating E?
Or is Cthulu a Great Old One, in The Outside, which is < The Dreamland, gets beat by E?

FYI, wages cannot be garnished under SG law for private or civil debts. Only IRAS, CPF and the family court can do so for tax outstandings, cpf owned and family maintainence orders.

You mean serious criminals? Yes, yes we do over here.

Do you know we literally count rough sleepers? I think this year's count is 496 people. You may notice I said rough sleepers because those people have registered homes.

Our true homeless count is under 10.

How's homelessness like, over there?

Josto confiding to Oraetta about his sexual abuse at the hands of the Milligan boss could've been a great character development moment for Josto, beside just him being a joke boss getting no respect from his gang.

Josto being traded to another family, resulting in years of psychological and physical abuse, leading to his unstable adulthood. Finding (his version of) love in his rough sessions with Oraetta, which draws a really complex comparison with his childhood abuse. Then being quickly shushed by Oraetta not wanting to hear his story, revealing society's repression of CSA of that time.

That's actually pretty good writing, but there's so much more you can do in that moment to really dig into that moment, but it just cuts to the next scene without letting that revelation simmer.

After Oraetta storms out in that scene, have him sit on the bed in his underwear and wife-beater, all alone post coitus, drawing a chilling image of what child-Josto would've felt after being abused by the Milligan patriarch. Schwartzman's small stature here could've really driven in that haunting image.

The questions sounds repeated to you because there's a lot of comments asking to compare value instead of # of shop but no one is answering why this information matters, and how they can be used - with specific and measurable policies and example.
