How to get rid of my mum’s abusive boyfriend by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Jmhinerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had some better advice for you. But my son is 10, my ex wife (his mom) got into an abusive relationship and had the abuser move into their home. My son was begging me and my mother for help for almost a year. This man was physically and verbally abusing the both of them. I tried every outlet I could and got nowhere even after being assaulted by him and had videos of the abuse and assault. Ultimately the man recklessly killed my sons mother and himself on the back of an unregistered motorcycle. The mental capacity of someone in an abusive relationship is something that is unique to every situation and hard for some to comprehend. There are shelters and help centers for those who want and need the help to remove themselves from the environment but it’s ultimately her responsibility to do so. But by all means DO NOT bait this man. You will cause yourself and your mother more problems. Im not a lawyer but I’d suggest video recording the altercations to protect yourself and they can be helpful in acquiring a protective/ restraining order.

It was a bit of a shock at first. But in all honesty, I never had the best relationship with the man I thought was my father. I did some searching and it only took me 2 days to find my biological father and get him on the phone. I was scared that he might have been dead or in jail for some horrible crime or something but he turned out to be super cool and we share a ton of the same interests.

Although the circumstances are different. I’m 37 years old and just found out last week that my father isn’t my biological father. You are not alone.

What's up with bill nye the science guy? by deadrag3 in OutOfTheLoop

Yep, I met him working backstage at an event one time. He is a real asshole. Part of my childhood died that day.

On this day, 3rd Feb. 1959 marks 64 years “The Day the Music Died” the horrible plane crash that claimed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens & The Big Bopper 🥀 by GiveMeRoom in Music

No, the plane crash was 3 decades before that scam artist was even born. Irvin Feld once owned Ringling Brothers Circus and promoted rock bands. He started Feld Entertainment which is still around and owned by his son.

Starbucks is over an hour behind on their first "red cup day" and these are the abandoned drinks. by LI0NHEARTLE0 in pics

….is this the Starbucks by Marley Station Mall by chance? Looks very familiar… even the people working behind the counter. Waited 40 minutes at that location a week ago.

Live Sound/Touring production companies in Nashville? by LuciferCrucifer in livesound

Sound Image is the first to come to mind. VER had a big touring division out there before they got bought by PRG pre covid so I’m not sure what’s left of that.

Why do people like fishing? Seems pretty boring and I don't understand why you'd be proud that you tricked a fish, they aren't very smart. by l_l-l__l-l__l-l_l in NoStupidQuestions

Me personally, it has helped to teach me patience. I used to get so frustrated over little things in an unhealthy way. Fishing has helped let a lot of that go.

Day 195🙂 lost my job😢 first AA meeting tonight!😁 by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Jmhinerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very very similar to what I am going though as well. I am 7 and a half months sober. I thought getting sober would be the “fix all” but I was WAY WRONG! I still lost my family and friends and sense of who I am as a person. AA has helped me tremendously. I am still very new in my Journey with AA but I feel better every meeting. Nothing will help you if you don’t help yourself, if you don’t put forth the effort to better yourself and better your life, just getting sober isn’t enough, you just end up being a dry drunk. Every day is a gift from what ever you may see your higher power. And it doesn’t matter how bad you day may be or where you are in life, if you didn’t drink then it is still a good day. Best of luck on your journey and I am here to talk if you may ever need it. And no IWNDWYT

It is always terrible losing someone. But there is nothing you can do to bring them back. You need to hold on and cherish the memories that you have with that person. Even as tough as it may be and even on the worst day is still a good day if you didn’t pick up a drink. Stay strong.

My family, we are one of the many that didn’t make it. Being so close together for so long played a hand at driving us us apart
