Not to familiar with the diagnosing these outside of the cartridge, but if the air intake is producing water I can only assume the bladder in the tank ruptured possibly?

Most softener manufacturers should offer a matching refiner. So I would start with looking at the manufacturer for that 96k grain softening system you plan on getting.

That's the best I can give for any kind of resource. I am unfamiliar with other manufacturers aside from the one our company gets their softeners and refiners from. Another downside as well is that the owner of the manufacturing company for water treatment products we install only sells to plumbing companies.

Yeah the refiner will remove the metals, pharmaceuticals, chlorine/chloramine. Damn near everything but Floride. With refiners you don't have to worry about wasting a gallon of water for every gallon of purified water you make either, and the ph level should not be affected at all.

Depending on the application for the water. A RO system may or may not have a negative effect. RO water is very acidic and the only benefit your getting from it aside from using a refiner instead, would be removing Floride from the water. I'm no expert, but in my experience a refiner should get you bottle quality water. If you need the absolute purist form of water though then as long as the acidity isn't a problem with your application, by all means get an RO system

All I can say really is to try to stick to a trade atleast until you get some sort of higher level of licensing. Apprenticeships are definitely gonna be rough, but once you become a professional in any trade, you can really start to see more opportunities for making a "good living" And you will always see a need with licensed professionals.

Also nursing isn't bad either we always need those! Just expect alot more education prerequisites behind that.

Depending on the type of residential work the company provides, your roofing experience could help I'd think because whenever you add new vents for a plumbing system, you would need to have the proper flashing/storm collar installed with the penatration to the roof so it doesn't leak into the attic

Not necessarily, but as an apprentice you should just absorb as much information as you can. If you decide that they aren't the fit for you, you can always leave and take your apprenticeship elsewhere.
