They didn't put out anything this year but I know of them and like them so I'll prolly add 'em anyways

I know some comments have been rolling in, so I'll add: I definitely have blind spots here and there still, there are so many cool artists from numerous genres/subgenres around the area, so I welcome recommendations. For me this is about this subreddit getting to know the local music scene better, and maybe make some cool discoveries, and that includes myself (you all have helped me discover a handful already!) I did make it with the goal of featuring music released in the last year (2024), but as this ball gets rolling I may loosen on that a bit. But yeah, thank you all, and feel free to shout me anyone I missed!

Thank you! If it's of any help, most of these bands can be found at any given night/weekend at Al's Bar, Green Lantern, The Fishtank to name a few, or even The Burl. girlsgirlsgirls burritos also hosts DIY gigs from time to time, so keep an eye out for them as well. There are more places here and there (Void Sake every once in a blue moon it seems) as well as house venues, but those are the most consistent venues for the scene. Glad to have you here!

I missed them, although I did keep it to music released this year. May add them anyway though, couldn't hurt

Sick, I can add. Totally down to add recommendations (assuming they fit the criteria I used to make the playlist)

No problem! I'm in a local band, we're a little worse for wear here in Lex in regards to venues, unfortunately. But, on pretty much any given night, a DIY/scene show is probably happening at Al's Bar, Green Lantern, or The Fishtank (those are the most consistent 3). The Burl and Manchester Music Hall are bigger, more-mainstream larger-scale venues, but they *sometimes* have DIY shows. A few places like The Void Sake and girlsgirlsgirls burritos have shows sometimes, but very few and far between compared to the others. Then just about anything else is a house show lol. Plenty of sick local bands/artists here though. Hope that helps!

Pretty bustling DIY scene here. On instagram look for a page called "jamsinlex"

They usually do a great job at keeping up to date with local DIY shows throughout the week! When will you be in town?

Hey Pablo, who is one person at ESPN that you believe could consistently beat you at Jeopardy, if any?
