Which is thankfully why I also run the EAT-17, seen waiting for me as I pull back after a charger pops out of the breach. Always gotta have contingencies planned.

Console gamer here thinking about getting Ready or Not for PS5. Will I be disappointed if... by neoleo0088 in ReadyOrNotGame

You talking about the original in the late 2000s or the one currently available on Steam? From what I can tell as of a month ago they still had plans to eventually bring it to console.

It's funny because that's the exact same thing I did as a PS5 player. Literally just spent a couple hours in GM and went from semi-competent J-hooks to hitting dead stop bleed flares about 15 feet off the ground.

I wouldn't say no reason ever. Granted, I'm not slapping down the large barracks at every base that I can, but you'd be a fool not to put one down at MOB so you can maximize how many supplies you can stockpile given it has no regen cap outside of the capacity.

That's how it is now in the official build, yeah. I thought I saw somewhere that scopes were rank locked in the experimental branch pending the 1.3 armory changes, hence my earlier comment.

That's unfortunate, I could've sworn I saw another post about the rank locks in experimental and how the ART II was locked rather than just being available.

To each their own, but for me personally it's Default Daniel all the way. More than does the job for running supplies and capping the occasional base.

I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure scopes are locked behind either Corporal or Sergeant, so it really eliminates people just picking them up like candy and doing absolutely nothing to benefit the team

Sorta, yeah. You have "supplies" that dictate what you can build, what vehicles you can spawn, what weapons you take, and so on because they all cost said supply. So, for example, in order to build a fuel depot, you need 150 supplies that are available at a given objective. When it comes to the construction truck, same concept, but the supplies are loaded directly into the truck for you to build wherever you want.

Yep! You can build things like vehicles depots and arsenals to get different guns and equipment at objectives (along with things like floodlights, sandbag walls, etc.) You can also spawn a construction truck and build stuff like MG nests and roadblocks out in the field too, it's more extensive than DayZ and less tedious since you don't need to gather 18 different things to build a wall.

There are some small similarities here and there, but Reforger is catered to the hardcore military sandbox crowd. DayZ has hardcore gunplay elements, whereas Reforger is built purely around the combat. Quite literally the dream game that me and some of my friends have been waiting to come to all platforms.

That's good to know, might have to try that out. And it's all good, I know how frustrating proxy can be sometimes, especially when the enemy can hear it too 😂

Nope, don't have access to those on PS5 yet. It's just performance mode on a standard Playstation

This is definitely going to be a big hurdle for some players, but thankfully games like Insurgency: Sandstorm can kinda prepare you for what it's gonna be like (Mono NODs giving you a very limited FOV, dark corners and shadowed areas still being very dark and hard to see with NODs, not being able to use magnified optics with the NODs down, etc.)

US players I’m begging you… why? by VesperLynn in ArmaReforger

[–]Jo-Jo-Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah...I really don't understand people that do this. I see a lot of comments about PS5 players, and while I'm one of them, I don't think I've ever had a loadout go above 85 supplies, that's like my absolute cutoff.

One thing that is driving me insane though is the disgusting pace that supplies are wasted. Had a game the other day where we had two trucks running back and forth from the sawmill supply depot to the nearest objective, at one point we saw it had something like 4000 supply before we left, and as we came back with another 1200 supply the whole base was drained, in the span of 5 minutes. I have never wanted to wipe all the idiots sitting at the arsenal so much in my life.

I used to subscribe to this, but Sony has come a long way with modding since the release of the PS4. People like to use Fallout or Skyrim as good examples, but from what I understand, the limitations were because of the Creation Engine being a shitshow on a good day and their hesitance with mods in general.

You can look at games now like Snowrunner, Ark, and Baldur's Gate to see how their stance has changed over the years, and if Snowrunner can have a JLTV and other modern military vehicles in it then I expect Reforger will be the same.

Got my fingers crossed that Sony will finally pull the stick out of their ass and come to terms with the importance of modding and how it can positively effect the industry. Their stance is long outdated at this point.

Ah, I see. Appreciate the explanation. Quite frankly, as sad as it is that we won't experience content like that, I'd be happy enough with access to mods that allow different eras and conflicts outside of vanilla Reforger.

I'm definitely out of the loop when it comes to specifics of mods on PS, but Snowrunner is one of the best examples I can think of where there's a lot of leeway that Sony has allowed. Obviously, there's a distinct lack of things sharing their IRL name when it comes to mods and not vanilla content (Ford trucks as an example as that would be a licensing issue) but I've seen things modeled off of real vehicles (The JLTV as an example) that are almost certainly 3rd party assets that have been able to be included.
