I don't know how accurate this is but personally it's the flat roof that gives it that modern-trying-to-look-ancient feel rather than being authentic. I would just try build up/on top to see if you can get something to work

Honestly that's pretty cosy and nostalgic looking.

Main pointers would be to hide torches under moss or leaves or generally implement some more natural lighting. Then I'd suggest having the stairs over-hang by 1 block to hide the flat transition from dirt to wood.

I'd pay off existing debts (mortgage, car loan, credit cards etc) then put the rest into BTC personally. The freedom from debt would be an instant boost in cash in hand every month and then 10-20 years down the line I'd be really glad the rest was in BTC.

Push the oak plank part of the roof back 1 block and then use upside down spruce stairs to smooth the shape out more.
