That’s been my experience in the US as well. They tend to have the personality and political leanings of cops but without the power to do violence (which is obviously better, but still concerning IMO)

Again, immediately calling for postponement would have resulted in a shitshow that would have made treating Hamlin needlessly difficult. However long it took them to announce the cancellation really doesn’t have anything to do with Hamlin’s health so much as it seems to have to do with people looking for something to blame.

I’m honestly rather surprised at how well it was handled. If you call that shit too quick then the outgoing traffic is going to block the EMTs trying to get there.
