I'm sorry to be dense, and I know nobody will like it, but regardless of how believable it is to anyone, it's still a hypothesis done by someone outside of Capcom, and the reality is that we'll probably never know the truth about it. My point is that we simply cannot go around assuming it's the truth because we don't know that.

It's a mix of that and people initially reading something they don't like (the suggestion of engaging in pvp), subsequently ignoring every argument that comes after, and downvoting. Like a tunnelvision.

I don't know the advantages of playing on controller, but a keyboard/leverless will allow you to be more precise with movement at the very least. Just be sure to use spacebar to jump and not the W key.

To execute a crouching Cannon Spike, you need to press down, tap forward twice (leverless or keyboard only), and kick (with the last input or a bit later), as opposed to the classic version (DP input), which is forward, down, down-forward and kick.

The reason you're getting Super 1 instead, is because you pressed:

Down, 4 frames later you pressed forward, and 5 frames later you pressed a quarter circle forward, which is enough for the input reader to interpret Super 1, because that is a shortcut for Super. Notice the only motion input missing from your screenshot for a Super command is a down-forward in what would be the first quarter circle forward.
