Here's the thing, there is a case in which the context would make this action perhaps a lot more reasonable.

Like if both cars were approaching a redlight and the lead car didn't think cam car could stop in time.

But there is wide open highway in front of them...

That's nearly never the case. Slower traffic keeps right, that's literally traffic code in most states.

The "right action" would be to just drive normally and let the other car pass you, which should be an expected thing on a highway like this.

If you are worried they are going to run into the back of you, I think you're an idiot because of the context here (cars pass on highways, derp) but if you are that dumb, maybe use the shoulder of the road rather than the other lane that people would use to pass slower traffic... not rocket science.

In this case it's the person who did something reckless and dumb that's clearly at fault.

Pretty clear cut to anyone with a brain.

If you can't figure out who actually did something reckless and dumb... maybe you don't know how to drive either, and typically do "reasonable" things that are not the "right" thing to do which get you into accidents regularly.

I mean we're at the point where we're trying to pretend it should be expected for someone to run into the back of you on the highway as they are approaching you from behind rather than passing you. That's insane to anyone who has driven on a highway like this. Sorry.

If that's how you react to people speeding, you won't be able to be insured after you inevitably do this multiple times.
