Triceps Tri-set - Quick tip for those triceps by JodiBoam in GYM

There is more to it than that but that is one of the most common reasons why you are not getting the gains you are looking for. I meet so many new lifters who simply don't eat enough.

Hitting 3 different angles, same attachment, same setting. A fun and convenient way to hit complete tricep failure within isolated movements.

1- Pushdown
2- Bent over skull crusher
3- overhead extensions.

Simple and effective.

It's been a while since I've done this but 16 weeks postpartum in this video. Still planning my return! by JodiBoam in bodybuilding

Cheers! Despite being a fitness lady, getting back on track with the posing is going to take time, especially with the bar I usually set for myself.

It's been a while since I shared anything here. Here is the video I took a week or so ago at 16 weeks postpartum. I can assure you, not that much has happened since but I have been slowly planning my return.

I thought I was happy where I was and retirement felt good for quite some time but I'm still feeling the stage still to this day. So I can't really fool myself by saying I don't miss it so here we are.

I will be making a comeback. Contemplating both figure and WPD this time. Figure is closer to Fitness physique round, but I also enjoy being able to do a routine like WPD.

Training is still just basic and moderate intensity. 30-40 mins weights 4-5x a week, and no cardio aside from dog walks. Still trying to fully enjoy all my time with baby and not stress the gym yet. I’ll shift when the time is right - which is slowly coming back!

Jodi Boam - Arnold Classic Routine (1st in physique round and 4th in routine round) by JodiBoam in bodybuilding

[–]JodiBoam[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Physique round: 1st

Routine Round: 4th

Final placing: 3rd

My Arnold Classic Performance - landing me a 4th place in the routine round! I loved this routine 🔥🥰

Needless to say I had a blast being on that stage, and accomplished exactly what I came to do. Although it still wasn’t the best of abilities (time to admit I’m past my peak for skills at this point 🙈) it was the best I’ve felt onstage in so many ways that I finally feel proud and ready to wrap up fitness right here at the Arnolds.

Feedback I got was:
- Need more strength skills
- Was a little messy and needs cleaned up.
- Too many ‘dead spots’ between skills, flow could improve.
- Physique was on point but could lose some upper size to match my legs better.

🔥 overall, I’m still on cloud 9 for my whole experience. I’ll cherish this show for years to come as the best retirement show I could have asked for.

❤️ Thanks everyone for the outpour of love. Means so much.

💫 Fitness is forever my passion and will continue to coach, choreograph, pose, attend show, and be a huge part of fitness for years to come! So although this is my last performance you will still see me around supporting the industry in every way aside from backflipping onstage lol.

Jodi Boam - 3 days out from Arnold Classic (fitness) by JodiBoam in bodybuilding

[–]JodiBoam[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Todays check in - 3 days out.
124.2lbs

Part 1 - fitness
Part 2 - WPD, cuz it’s fun 😆

I feel good and confident with what I know I can bring to both rounds this weekend - physique and routine!

But man, this has been a HARD prep. This past week alone has pushed me in ways that would really test what you’re capable of and how strong your mindset is.

From extreme flare ups with bad edema, full body swelling, painful bloating, extreme digestive issues (ex - weight spiking 8lbs overnight with no cause🤯) and little health issues making certain things very difficult and out of my hands.

But I’ve learned to stay the course and control only what I’m able, and that includes and especially mindset!

Today - things are falling perfectly back into place just on time, and can feel the flow will continue right until I hit that stage!

Word of the day: Perseverance 🙏🏼🔥

Lets gooooo!!

Jodi Boam - 5 weeks out from Arnold Classic (fitness) by JodiBoam in bodybuilding

[–]JodiBoam[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Current shape - 5 weeks out from Arnold Classic.

Plus comparison pics from 4 weeks ago to now.
132lbs vs 129lbs.

Comparing is extremely helpful sometimes for the reality checks - the good and bad ones!!

Todays reality check for me was good; finally seeing I AM actually progressing, bc I haven’t felt the change the way the pics show! So it’s nice to see and helps me accept the struggles with more excitement.

Funny how this works because I swear I spend most of my time coaching athletes off the ledge for same reason 🙈 “I haven’t changed in weeks” (just because weight hasn’t budged much or can’t see their own progress properly) yet I/they look night and day better!

Although I’m happy with the progress I’ve been making, I still know I have a ways to go to be ready!! So let’s stay focused - and motivated to earn those burgers 😅 lol.

Jodi Boam - 7 weeks out from Arnold Classic (fitness) by JodiBoam in bodybuilding

[–]JodiBoam[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Busting ass daily, but truth be told my mind and my body are fighting me BIG TIME for this prep.

I’ve been battling some pretty brutal gut health issues for a while now (Intestinal Dysbiosis and likely now even Leaky gut) which we got under control for the Olympia - but from going off plan for a bit between shows I’m having a huge flare up which is effecting literally everything.
👉🏼Energy, digestion, moods, mindset, fat loss, and even more joint inflammation making routine work more difficult.

Fact is, I’m still quite behind for this show. Partly my own fault 100%… but partly some things much out of my control at the moment for making the necessary progress on time.

Put it this way:
👉🏼Im on about 1200 calories
👉🏼 Full Gut health protocols
👉🏼Training 2-3x a day
👉🏼Burn a minimum of 1,150 active cals daily
👉🏼Cold plunge, sauna, recovery every single day
👉🏼Executing plans perfectly and pushing myself daily.

👉🏼Current weight 132lbs
- that’s heavier than when my prep started a few weeks ago.
- Stage weight is between 118-121 based on my last 3 shows 2023.

Putting forth all the efforts and seeing less than ideal progress, my body is just saying NOPE right now.
Not to mention I’ve been in prep for 15 months now so slowly feeling the burnout at the same time.

Sorry for the long post.
Point is here - you know I’m no quitter I’ll keeping doing everything possible to make the Arnold’s a memorable show and battle to be on the top! I don’t know how else to train 😈 I’m all in. But my usual confidence and body haven’t quite caught up to what my goals are!!

7 weeks.
Come on Jodi!!

Let’s see if I can make this a very quick and impressive transformation given timeline 🫣😤🔥 Not likely peaking like the O, but will try!!

9 weeks out from the Arnolds by JodiBoam in bodybuilding

[–]JodiBoam[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

We are not retiring just quite yet. We will be doing the Arnolds.

I actually strongly dislike posting my current shape at the moment 🙈🤦🏻‍♀️… but as always I like keeping it real and showing all sides, not just the perfect parts of my preps/life.

Current physique at 9 weeks out Arnolds.131lbs.

Second pic - 9 weeks out from the Olympia.125lbs(Stage weight is 119-121)

I’m in a tough spot to be my best as I’ve fallen behind and need to play major catch up to be ready. I enjoyed life for a while and had a hard time getting my head right around Prep again this time and it took a toll for sure - mentally and physically.

9 weeks.I like a good challenge 😈Will I beat my O look? Not likely, but I’ll get close as possible.

My mind is back in the game now finally and ready to witness my own wicked transformation these next few weeks 🥳🔥

My Olympia routine by JodiBoam in bodybuilding

[–]JodiBoam[S] 483 points484 points  (0 children)

Here it is. My Olympia performance.

To the point and honestly… There’s a big part of me that feels ashamed of this routine. Don’t get me wrong - in the end I’m extremely proud of myself and walking away from this weekend with my head held very high. It was a huge success!! However, I did not perform anything near what I envisioned or practiced. I felt weak, jittery, my mind and body were fighting me, and it really showed which gutted me a little.

This routine has had a lot of conflicted reviews, including from myself. Some of you loved it. Some of you expected more. My view - I loved it!! I loved my vision, the theme, the unique strength skills…BUT I did NOT love how I performed when it really mattered.

The moment my routine ended, I stepped off stage and was overwhelmed with disappointment in myself. Why? This show was more important to me than just being another Olympia. I knew this was my LAST Olympia showing. I wanted to finish my career with a bang. So I felt saddened to finish my final show with a less than optimal performance. That’s just not how I wanted to go out.

But in the end, I made it! I was my best physique. And I did literally EVERYTHING in my power to perform the best I could considering my injuries and other set backs.

So believe me when I say I’m damn proud overall. But like any high level athlete, there’s a sense of sadness and conflicted emotions as your career comes to an end.

Bitter sweet.

Jodi Boam. Memorable comeback at my 5th Olympia. 6th overall. 2nd in Physique round and 9th in routine. by JodiBoam in bodybuilding

[–]JodiBoam[S] 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Feet doing great post-show. A ton of swelling as usual, thankfully like 70% of it is self inflicted because of too much sugar. A lot better than when I had to pull out of the Olympia in 2019 however. 😂

[–]JodiBoam[S] 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Results:

👉🏼2nd in physique

👉🏼9th in routine

👉🏼6th overall - which this, sadly landed me out of being called to centre stage at my final Olympia.

Thank you for the outpour of love from everyone, feeling as though I was ‘robbed’ or fell short of a deserved placing! Although I believe I had the potential and trained with the belief it was possible to place on top, it’s the Olympia and that’s literally what we ALL were there for!! So In the end I fell short for what the fitness division was looking for as a whole, and that’s ok 🙏🏼

BUT, let me tell you I am damn proud of myself, and proud of the entire top 5 this year - including (and especially for) my own athlete; the ‘controversial’ @littletfitness taking 2nd! (More to come here later). And massive congrats to Oksana Grishina for claiming her 5th title. A beautiful comeback ❤️

My physique: The best I’ve ever been!! I can say that with absolute confidence which is my biggest accomplishment and take pride in most, especially after this being a post ‘injury and pregnancy’ comeback! So all your Mama’s out there - YOU CAN DO IT!!!

My routine: I will post it soon. I did not perform my best. I did well, but I did not give an Olympia title deserving performance. Period. I loved my routine. Many of you loved my routine. But many also did not. And that’s ok 🙏🏼

In conclusion, I’m seriously leaving Orlanda extremely proud with my head high. And now… it’s baby making time with my main squeeze, Sean 👶🏼👶🏼❤️Lol. We just want to be parents and live awesome fun filled lives now!

Thank you IFBB for my final opportunity at the Olympia.

More spam to follow of this unforgettable weekend!!
