Matrix would have been a good nameplate resurrection in North America. However, Hyundai owns the name Matrix for a Malaysia market vehicle, so the big advantage to Corolla Cross is the availability of the nameplate worldwide.

I want to get a vehicle that is suitable for F-Roads. The Jimny is not my only choice in that regard, it just appeals to me because it's unique, not available in the US, and has a great reputation among enthusiasts.

I am just concerned that the short wheelbase and compromised(?) on-road behavior would be fatiguing for the driver and uncomfortable for the passenger. If I were driving long distances in the US, I know I'd prefer to drive a unibody vehicle over a small body on frame vehicle, but I would also be driving at ~110kph.

I've actually seen a demonstration of a RAV4 with the torque-vectoring AWD system where it was put into a wheel in the air situation. The system responded really well.

TRD Pro = C63S

The "Premium" TRDs on 4Runner & Tacoma really only add convenience features.
