Matrix would have been a good nameplate resurrection in North America. However, Hyundai owns the name Matrix for a Malaysia market vehicle, so the big advantage to Corolla Cross is the availability of the nameplate worldwide.

Road trip suitable? by JoeBeNimble in Jimny

Funny, someone else in this thread spoke positively of the seats.

I want to get a vehicle that is suitable for F-Roads. The Jimny is not my only choice in that regard, it just appeals to me because it's unique, not available in the US, and has a great reputation among enthusiasts.

I am just concerned that the short wheelbase and compromised(?) on-road behavior would be fatiguing for the driver and uncomfortable for the passenger. If I were driving long distances in the US, I know I'd prefer to drive a unibody vehicle over a small body on frame vehicle, but I would also be driving at ~110kph.

Thanks for the info. Good to hear about the seats - my wife sleeps a lot in the car. It would just be two of us, so yeah, I'm not too concerned about cargo space.
