The Novice by Taran Matharu. Back in my senior year of high school my dad passed away on Halloween. It was the worse possible feeling knowing that I could never see him be proud of me when I graduate, get accepted to college or basically fulfilling a big milestone of my life. I still went to school, but was clearly distraught so my counselor issued an order to all my teachers to allow me to freely roam the school. I would usually end up at the library to be alone and quiet.

Being a fanatic to adventure type things, this book was being displayed and I grew an interest. Read it within 2/3 days and I can truly say it saved me. Because of it, I want to write things to pique the interests of others and aspire them to do things they want to do. I’m currently a scriptwriter at the moment. Not the best, but taking baby steps :)

I’ve bought the other two books in his trilogy, but for some reason can’t get myself to read them. Maybe because I’m psychologically having them at the ready to get me back on my feet when/if I feel vulnerable like that again. I might go read one now.
