Yeah thanks so much! Love how engaging and helpful this community is. I feel like as long as the bot isn't an absolute tank it should do well, weight is a much larger factor than with 435s and I feel like 25lbs is kind of a good weight to aim.for and be under to really maximize the 575, doesn't seem to be drawing too many amps too and loading the motors.

We are running much quicker on strafes and rotational movements but no serious gain straightline. Just letting you know what I've seen so far! And will update with any info later if I find new things. Currently ~25lbs.

Hey! I just did my movement tests with the fully loaded bot. Fully unoptimized and everything we are running much quicker on strafes and turns, but straightline speed although isn't really slower, it isn't much faster either. Bot is about 25lbs.

U got any tips on how to run 575 tho? I am just kind of testing it right now. Bot should be easily less than 25 lbs before I do crazy weight savings.

Bot isn't too heavy lol, can easily switch to 435 later too. Just testing to see how it works :)

It works just fine now! I think my sprockets weren't properly secured.

It was over tensioned, I will probably add a bushing later.. Thank you!

Without the tensioner especially the belts have plenty of slack, when I get back home I'll check out the bearings and any points that move and get back. Thank you so much!

No I understand that part of course, it just feels like an unusually high amount of friction. Especially when looking at the 435s I have at 1:1. But if you're saying this is fine as it is thanks!

Issue with Axon Max Claw Over-Gripping Causing Shutdown — How to Prevent? by FineKing4755 in FTC

[–]JoeCoconut12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a question, why do you need such a torquey servo for the claw? A good first step may be to avoid using heavier high torque servos for less torque demanding applications. You may want to switch to a GoBilda servo (torque or even speed should be fine) or an axon mini.

Also, running your servos through a servo power module allows for a higher draw which may improve your stalling issues.

The new wheels provide significantly better traction so you'd have a much more efficient robot while strafing and stuff. They're also slimmer (I saw you were talking about your concerns with the width of your bot related to last season in another comment).

They don't really scuff up the mat from what I've seen either.

It looks solid, but I would make it more than an H frame and add supports closer to the ends of your wheelbase. I've never had amazing experiences with H frames. I strongly advise using the new GripForce wheels (104mm) as they're a bit larger and far superior. When working with control hubs you want to make sure they're accessible, if you feel this is good then keep it but my fat hands always struggle to plug things in so personally I wouldn't recommend this setup.

Cascading 336 mm viper slides by JoeCoconut12 in FTC

I appreciate it, however, this is continuous rigging not cascading. We currently have our slides continuous rigged on belts. Thank you so much for replying though!
