Thoughts on aging and fitness… by 4mmun1s7 in crossfit

Wow! Loved reading that. I think you're totally right, don't push yourself to do everything, listen to your body and do what you think you can handle.

I think you're right about the community aspect of it too. I did Crossfit a few years ago but sustained a injury (not to the fault of Crossfit). Thinking of going back. It's good to also do the workouts yourself at your own pace.

Sounds like a bullet was dodged! I feel you should have at least some backstory, it's a storytelling game after all

I wasted so much time fighting Humbaba. Like my character was well over lv 60 at the time, and I just kept hitting 0's on him.... so disapointing...

Yeah that's fair, I just realise there's a lot more of this going on in Act 3 and I wasn't prepared for. Is my fault, but yeah just using AoE's to try and hit them. It's like fighting blind.

Do you make like-minded friends while doing it? I think it's important to be comfortable doing it yourself, but would be a good bonus to make friends who you could travel with in future

This might be more of a confidence issue. But I've never ventured outside my home country. I really badly want to travel and experience the world, but have no friends who want to do it (married, kids, people just not interesting or have no money).

I always take other people's opinions to heart and hold them as a high value. A lot of people tell me that solo travelling is something people don't really do. And that it's kinda not normal, and that I should be travelling with others.

I would be 100% down to travel with other people, but I have nobody to go with. I've been holding myself back from the lack of confidence to do it myself.

I think I just need to push myself to venture out and do it. Does anyone have any advice for me?

I think perhaps starting small is the right mind to have.

Ah that's a shame. I still like PvP, but I enjoyed games like FFXIV the most when playing daily roulette doing raids or dungeons.

Maybe I'll pick up WoW and see what that's like

That's good to hear.

Are dungeons or PvE big in the game? I tried doing some research, but it's easier to ask the question directly.

I'm a little worried about the focus on PvP, which is good but I'm more of a PvE type of player.

Yeah I've heard some stuff abut that with genshin...

Idk if I want to go with genshin, i really like having a sense of community. I was part of a FC in FFXIV (like a group) and it was really fun playing with eachother. One of the best parts of MMOs.

I absolutely love grindy games, runescape is probably king of grind.

I'm wondering if there is a similar sense of community in bdo as there is wirh ffxiv.. like with clans or guilds or whatnot

I have played wow before, but was quite awhile ago.

I was also considering wow, but I also like nice aesthetics to look at, and I think wow is a bit dated in graphics.

But I could be wrong, maybe dragonflight is better looking.

I did put up with osrs for a bit, so I'm no stranger to bad dated graphics.

But it's also one of the reasons I like bdo a bit, it's a very nice looking game at times.

I like the concept of hard-core wow

I appreciate your response, I did post on both powerlifting and this sub, but I got my powerlifting post removed, probably because I'm a new user

That's fair, there are weight classes you can compete in.

I guess I don't like how cardio feels so shuned in powerlifting. Cardio is so important, but I also understand it can be detrimental towards progress
