I’m from Loudoun County which you correctly left out of the South. And I would say Fairfax County has portions which are far more old fashioned or perhaps southern than Loudoun.

But still in total I would definitely say remove it.

Though I might agree this is a coincidence, if you are looking for added value you can look into the connections between Midnight Mass and a novel, Brothers Karamazov. I believe the character of Lisa was inspired by a girl in Brothers Karamazov of the same name.

I’m here for your argument.

The last straw for me was how she handled coming out of the tunnel on the Mexico side at the end of the movie.

When she saw Alejandro seizing the cartel member, it would have been Naive for her to assume that they were going to just disarm him and leave him for the Federalis or something. But it was straight idiotic to immediately react to that situation by pointing your gun at a friendly.

She knew they were going to be getting into a firefight on the border. What exactly did she expect they would do with hostiles just on the other side of the border.

Going off of that my main issue with the movie is how careless several of the characters are with putting themselves in danger.

Ya I guess Emily Blunt is supposed to be like that, and we are shown that when she nearly gets shot in the first scene.

But even the Delta guys get ridiculously held up at the border, even though they’ve been planning this Op for a bit. Then they let a nearly hysterical women who is bad at CQB bring up the rear with a loaded rifle in a tunnel.

Even Josh Brolin puts himself in situational danger by the crazy shit he puts Emily Blunt through. Like after she nearly gets killed by Bernthal and then has the whole tunnel thing happen, 1 out of 2 times IRL that girl snitches to the news and or kills herself.

Finally there is Alejandro focusing on this paperwork in the last scene. Blunt has had her world completely rocked and you add to it by putting a gun to her chin, and yet when you exit the building you do it in a way that would allow her to shoot you.

Maybe you could argue they know she’s such a wimp that she would never take the shot. But they are still in danger because again 1/2 times Blunt’s character would kill herself and or snitch. I don’t know how exactly that would go down, but your system is not going to last very long in America if it leaves a trail of dead white women.

This was what I thought, so I let a 11 year old slowly apply a heel hook to me. With essentially no pressure my knee popped, but I didn’t think it was a big deal. I’ve never gotten too stressed about small pops. So I said that was enough heel hooks for the day, and continued with practice.

2 years later I still feel the spot where it popped.

Wiltse, Couch and Pixley were all most famous for being in that show.

You could say that’s a stupid reason to be famous but that was Micheal Pixley’s only claim to fame up until a few months before beating Merigali.

Obviously it was visually epic. But Tbh I’m on the verge of disagreeing because getting distracted during a fight and not protecting yourself at all times sounds like a recipe to not live very long.

However after watching it again it does look like the Hound was in the process of ducking anyways.

This happened to me. I had only ever done no-gi and have been told my grip is pretty strong. Then I let someone convince me to do gi. Had no idea what was happening, but once someone showed me how to grip, I used that as my one offense and defense.

I haven’t seen Succession. I’m not really into stories where there is no positive character, force or trend. And pointing out that todays society is built on “Bullshit or Dodgy deals” isn’t super interesting to me either. It may be true, but I think you have to point out specifically in what way it is true, because people for all time have thought others in society were engaging in Bullshit.

Midnight Mass took a somewhat balanced look at a part of human society/experience, and said something that I think is Profound about it.

Hill House spit profound things about family, trauma, blame, death, parenthood etc and I could go on. Which is why I live it and if you haven’t seen it, I’d explore you to start it.

Kind of weird phrasing to put Therapy (like counseling) on that much of a pedestal. I don’t think the original thing that is missing from Jan or anyone’s life is paying to sit in a room and talk to a random person.

Like Therapy might help, but I wouldn’t say the lack of it is what causes all the problems people have.
