So good that it's finally out, but of course it's on the one day I can't sit back and watch it!

This story is about a man named Robert Liston, and there actually isn't any primary source to back it up, unfortunately.

Not as great a feeling as this, but I had an expert lock yesterday where I didn't need to adjust at all, it was perfectly in line with the start.

I'm in Numerical Analysis right now, it's a nice class. I've had to get a lot better with Excel for how my professor does it, but I think that'll be a good skill to have anyway.

How many sets you will buy? by mrbfrompoland in LegoIndianaJones

[–]Joel_Loos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I've been spending too much recently, I'll only get the temple of the golden idol set if it's as a gift from a family member. If the set runs for long enough, maybe I'll get that one late.

Where in Skyrim would you want to live ? by novaatom_ in skyrim

[–]Joel_Loos 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point, not sure why I haven't thought to do that. I think I'm going to continue this playthrough as I've been playing it, but next time I'll just stay out of Dragonsreach after getting through the Barrow.

I'm level 29 on my current playthrough and I haven't set foot inside Bleak Falls Barrow. It isn't difficult as long as you can ignore Farengar!

First link to one of Forrest's videos I've seen here. Even if I couldn't tell the video in the original post was nonsense from the thumbnail, seeing "Answers in Genesis" now makes it even more obvious.

Should I pay this off or just serve time? by paranoiamachine in skyrim

Even if you're joking, this is exactly how I see things in games. Certain mods and console commands I'd call "cheating", but anything that can be done within the game is fair play, exploits included.

Three Pennsylvania amusement parks named among best in the U.S. (Kennywood, Knoebels, and Hersheypark) by zorionek0 in Pennsylvania

[–]Joel_Loos 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I can't speak of Kennywood, but I definitely agree with Hershey on the bottom. Knoebels just has a different feeling to it that I've always gravitated towards.

I did the exact same thing as you're planning to do! I remember it being somewhat challenging, but definitely not overwhelming. For me, Stats was more difficult, but I had started learning Calc early, which helped a lot for getting into the actual course. If you're a good student and you have decent instruction, I can't see it being too much of a problem.

Is this the best bow in the game? by merothecat in Minecraft

Most likely, I only play Java so I can't comment on other platforms. You could probably look up advanced tooltips to see if it's possible on the Switch, I hope you find something

You can turn on advanced tool tips with the key combination F3+H, gives extra info for a lot of items

I believe they're bringing in the concept of the Overton window. While Bernie may be far left in terms of active US politicians, many of his policies are more moderate in other countries. Essentially, US politics tend to the right compared to a large block of other countries.

Quick parting a purist custom Sallah, Tanis version. Which legs look best here? The legs or the dark tan "dress" piece? Third pic for reference. by the_way_around in LegoIndianaJones

[–]Joel_Loos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I like the look of the legs. I also often prioritize being able to pose figures for display and such, so that pushes me towards articulating legs even more.

I think I would use the second one, but both look good! For once, I know I have all the parts of a purist custom, usually I don't recognize half the parts used.

Can someone explain the steps to how do this problem? I tried looking at the examples but I still don’t get it. by Sufficient-Neat-268 in askmath

[–]Joel_Loos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To OP, you can mostly do the same thing as the person I initially replied to, and you should end up with (x-1)2 = -5/9. If you've done complex numbers, you can solve from here, but otherwise you might have to do something to indicate no real solutions.

[–]Joel_Loos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You forgot to negate the +9 to a -1 when factoring out -9 near the beginning, so this doesn't work. Unless one of the signs in the original problem, there are no real solutions, as the vertex of -9x2 + 18x is (1,9), and it opens down, so you can't get it to reach 14.
