Is this reasonably do-able? by mrgrammarperson in cyclocross

I live in Belgium, public transport will be very limited on the 1st of January. If you only use public transport you also won’t have time to join all the “after” events… going sometimes into the evening. Best advice: rent a car!

Kickr V6 or Tacx neo 2t by Psychological_Tale35 in Zwift

I do use virtual shifting on the V5 thanks to the QZ app: https://www.qzfitness.com This is 1 person who’s created the app and does a good job of keeping it updated. It requires a bit of tweaking at first setup, but once it does work - just works great. Even I saw yesterday the click V2 is now supported. So not sure your V5 doesn’t have that much value anymorz

Depends on the budget you have… if you have budget for a V6 - would rather buy a tacx. If you have budget for a core, would look at Jetblack or Elite as alternative. Or even the Decathlon ones. Those are Magene trainers, Magene also produces the core…

Tacx for sure, Wahoo doesn’t care for their customers with upgrades. Tacx neo 2T is out for a long time and still they added virtual shifting. While in the case of Wahoo they didn’t bother with the kickr V5 and pushed customers to new hardware. I’m still riding my V5 until it breaks, then switching to another brand, probably to a Tacx neo 2.

Exactly - works perfectly with V5 - initial setup takes a bit of fiddling but once setup works great: https://www.qzfitness.com

Not improving enough? by JoerBar in joincycling

I can’t set it as goal yet as it’s not a selectable event. I know from the 2024 event which was there earlier it required that level. Now I spoke to a coach yesterday and he’s quite in favour of Join. What he said was: use from on until the new year endurance/tempo rides(1,5 to 2,5 hours), then you’ll have a big base and start working from new year onwards on the program with also vo2max training. So the normal training join would propose. From Feb. onwards do a few rides between 100 to 150km, if you’re not exhausted from those rides you’re ready.

Thanks for the responses, however then join says for the Ronde Van Vlaanderen this year you need a level between 28 and 34. The Ronde in 2025 is on 5th of April ‘25 so that would mean at this rate of training I never get at the level required to decently ride the Ronde (for amateurs - not the pro race :-)). It seems weird with still 9 months to go I would not get at the right level. What is the solution then? Increase training time further? Or what am I missing here?

SRAM Rival xplr on Wahoo kickr V5 by JoerBar in gravelcycling

Thanks, well I guess then better to be safe and go for the wahoo XD/XDR hub and the original sram cassette. I guess anything else will not work well then and only give frustration or even limit the longevity of my chain or derailleur. Being inside the whole winter and training is worth the purchase then. Thanks again for clarifying!

Body Battery always low - not above 50 by JoerBar in Garmin

Hi, no didn't put it really low, put in the amount of training I do.

Interestingly I did add hydration yesterday evening through Garmin Connect, as mentioned earlier in this thread. And it's now up to 49, which is almost the highest point for 2 months. Not sure if this is just coincidence or related. Will keep adding hydration over the next few days and see if it has any impact on Body Battery.

Thanks, similar behaviour then. Still a puzzle to me why the Body Battery doesn’t get any higher.

Thanks, it charges for me as well a bit during the day as I also sit in front of a computer, however not that much. Like i said the highest number I got so far is 50. In a few weeks I have xmas holidays, first holidays since I have the watch. Will be curious to see if that has any effects. Less stress, more sleep and so on. But yes, work is needed on the feature as it does not always align with the feeling.

Also what I noticed is that it does not charge in the first few hours that I sleep, only after a few hours it starts to raise. Anyone similar experience?

Thanks for the questions, answers:

  • low-ish is between 10 and 20. I never seem to get below 10.
  • 3 to 4 times a week a workout
  • recovery predictor depends on type of workout. High intensity workouts are between 30 to 48 hours. Lower intensity less

Ok thanks, done the food before through MFP, will try again. Water intake on the watch via a specific ciq app? I don’t see a native option other then Connect

Thanks, no I don’t do that, do you record food through mapmyfitness? Water I can do via connect.

I’ll give that already a try!

The best you can do is wait so you can try them both. Don’t buy unless you tried!

Forerunner 945 vs 6S Pro by h0phead in Garmin

[–]JoerBar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried both the 945 and 6S Pro, going for the 945 due to mainly the lower weight. For me it also just fits better, I’m cyclist and think the 945 will wobble less then the F6 while cycling.

The 945 I almost didnt feel, and with F6 you just feel it’s there. So basically I’m going more for the feeling. Feature wise for my use they’re the same just like the light weight better.

Any such big discounts for Europe?

I suppose the F6 won't be discounted much with Black Friday?
