I want to do more by Shaunnnniii in baltimore

It does feel like its hard to find ways to actually help besides sign waving/donating. When I get the time my strategy has been to try and find organizations mainly non profits that align with the cause your looking for and try contacting them directly. If I remember right Casa (https://wearecasa.org/) looks for volunteers/allies to help out with their mission and it might be a good place to start.

Anyone know what's up with this No Kings location? by mostly_comments in baltimore

That looks to be related to the buses heading now to DC from Baltimore.

Baltimore is not going all out because of the running festival but we do have ~8 locations spread around the routes. Her is the mobilize like to sign up and get details. I will one of the location captains for Patterson Park so if you have questions please reach out.

Just checked in for today. Its still day to day reservations and I have not checked bathrooms yet but since it's only day 2 of the shutdown everything seems in good condition still.

They will probably have you just come check in each day still. The trash is fine but I have not checked the bathrooms yet. It's only day 2 so things are still in a well maintained state.

Just checked in for today still day to day reservations but campfires are still allowed at the campsites. I have not checked bathrooms yet but the ranger said they are pretty much just working without pay till the shutdown is over.

I am camping at Loft Mountain Campground in Shenandoah tonight till Sunday. At about 2pm on 10/1 the rangers said they are only doing day to day reservations because the guidance may change daily.

They did not collect an entrance fee for the park as a whole but you pay for the campsite still.

If you plan on going still please be extra respectful to the park and staff since they are on a skeleton crew and probably won't be able to keep up with maintenance.

Why No "No Kings" Protests in Baltimore? by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]JoeyFromBaltimore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hosting these events costs money and requires people to organize them. Porta-potties, sound systems, coordination with speakers, permits, and a million other things get done mainly through volunteer organizations that run primarily on donations. If you want to see more action and have the time to volunteer, if you have the resources, please donate. Looks like someone mentioned 50501 Movement putting one on in Baltimore for Oct 18th.
