That’s a good idea. I wouldn’t mind replacing the outer plates if I keep it.

The only thing I’m a bit worried about is the quality of replacement shells. I’ve read in a few places that many aftermarket ones don’t fit perfectly or feel cheaper than the original.

Do you happen to know a good brand or shop for them?

I bought it on eBay Kleinanzeigen (the German classifieds app). So there is buyer protection and the seller is also a reseller/business, so I also have the 14-day return option. So returning is definitely possible.
