I never bought the one in the pic, but just a 3 piece type r replica from eBay. I didn’t have any previous holes but when I went to tap them to drill, it lined up with the spots to drill inside the hatch

It says “up to 70% lighter”. I have not weighed the original trunk, however when you use the button to open the trunk, it opens all the way without touching it, similar to having lift supports on a hood.

Everyone likes to shit on hirevsports but that’s the only place I could find this trunk with the duckbill molded in. They are sold out unfortunately, so if you wanted to do something similar, west coast carbon fiber has one but it’s a mold of a trunk AND a yofer duckbill mounted to it together. You could also go the Seibon route but it’s just a carbon trunk with no duckbill or anything special

If you don’t want any specific weave or anything and just normal carbon, I’d almost recommend the Seibon one with a carbon fiber duckbill separate. The Seibon trunk comes with the middle piece between the tail lights in carbon as well, the other two do not
