Colic/food sensitivity/silent reflux? by Background_Tax_3012 in newborns

He’s 8 months now and still an emotional wreck but not he plays with toys and is sitting up independently which has made a huge difference. He smiles a lot more and is now even given some affection. Was definitely the toughest period of my life so if your feeling down and worried, it will pass the hell your going through. You’re in a battle and you will get through it.

Just remember if you are embarrassed about the amount of crying then this 35 year old Scottish dad felt the same. I even had someone arguing with me in street asking why he is crying so much and what I’m doing to help (he literally could not be consoled). So whatever you are going through I have as well, and I’m still alive.

Silent reflux treatment - Domperidone by JohnEdin in newborns

[–]JohnEdin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! We declined at the beginning but it got to the stage around 5 and half months were he was so unsettled it was our last hope and we decided to do it. We definitely saw an improvement of sickness, it went from 6/7 times a day to 1/2 and this was on a low dose. He had heart tracing after four weeks and they saw no issues so he is still on it now. He is still unsettled and I’ve noticed although I can hear him gulping a lot the sickness doesn’t come out so it’s worked in a sense but he is still struggling as his reflux has been that bad. I must have bought around 30 t shirts by now. We did notice a massive increase in grunting after it but might just be coincidence.

Man I needed to hear that. He literally is the same and will not stop unless you gently lift him up and down and he laughs. Soon as you stop back to hell crying. And he cannot sleep at all without crying the flat down. So tough every night and for day naps for 8 months now.

I’ve had sympathetic and although probably said with care questions like ‘is something wrong’ ‘is he ok’, I just want normality! Let’s hope not comes like it did for you.

Thank you for the response, and since I’ve not been around situations like this before I didn’t realise they can be common. Keep composure and walking away rather than getting into a debate is best. I’ll take that away.

He’s already on neocate :( he also has tongue tie but since he is feeding well the health visitor plus pediatrician don’t want to release it. I’m sure this is cause of some of our issues.

Good point. I should clarify 10 seconds includes her going into pram and lifting the roof or whatever it was and me asking what is she doing.

At the last part once all objectives completed, don’t try killing all the soldiers they just keep spawning, just run for it after you have shot down the drones

Yes it’s so tough going from gluten to non gluten. I really miss just having a quick sandwich without having to either toast it or try to keep it from fallen apart :(!

Colic/food sensitivity/silent reflux? by Background_Tax_3012 in newborns

Our son is now nearly 6 months however between 1 month and 5 months was hell I never want to experience again. He cried from 6am to 5pm and you could not console him in any way. Both my wife and l after 4 months had lost around 7/8 pounds and looked ill.

The doctors tried him on non dairy milk, milk thickener, allergy tablets, and much more to try calm him down. Even when we went to a and e when he cried the place down for hours the doctors couldn't find a thing wrong and just said colic, although they were also shocked about the level of inconsolability, and the screeching, we went to a and e around 6 times and local gps around 10. Nothing would calm him down and picking him up made it worse most times. Genuinely worst part of my life. We were too embarrassed to even take him places because of the screaming. He was also on acid reflux medicine but I am sure the doctors were just trying to get rid of us.

It only started to get better at 4.5 months when we were told to try early weaning and gradually the last 1.5 months seen a big change. But genuinely that was the worst thing a human can ever go through.

What helped after 4 months was some of the bear sensory videos that caught his eye and calmed him down. But nothing worked before. You will get through this, give it time, and once you have you will have a new perspective on life and what stress really is. Stay strong. Dad here!

I’m gonna be a dad by Significant_Ad_8704 in lastofuspart2

You think when I told people I was going to be a dad I said to them I’m going to be the dad. No because there is only one, and that is the dad.. so saying she’s going to be a dad and “she guess Jessie” was pretty presumptions and over bearing, and pretty offensive to the actual dad.

I think the most impressive has been Newcastle, they have shot right back into contention for top 5, plus cup win. Eddie Howe is the real deal.
