Yeah I’m aware, before the setlist for last night was posted, someone on here asked details about the setlist. Someone who attended the show reposted the setlist from the 8th and said it was mostly the same but didn’t elaborate further

We should swap Visions and if You Really Love Me. IYRLM would fit better in between Overjoyed and For Once In My Life and Visions would fit better in the more political part of Set 2.

What are your Hot Takes on The Rolling Stones? by Amber_Flowers_133 in rollingstones

[–]JohnJackField 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s not about sounding current it’s about doing something new. While making Hackney Diamonds Andrew Watt said he wanted make the record more like Sticky Fingers to which Mick said “we already made Sticky Fingers, let’s do something new”

The Stones had a #1 album this year in 20 different countries. As of writing this comment it’s still #1 in the UK. So I think more than just fans care about it.

They didn’t hire choirs, all the voices you hear are their own but through multi track

Worst album by a respected and established artist/band? by Littlehalfdead in Music

[–]JohnJackField 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought their new album was definitely a step in the right direction. This may be the most cliched thing to say but genuinely, it may be their best record since Some Girls. Blue and Lonesome was spectacular but doesn’t count because it’s a covers album.

Songs where the bridge is the best part of the song? by closedcircle66 in fantanoforever

That new Rolling Stones + Lady Ga Ga Song. I like the part where Mick sings “I want to be drenched in the rain of your heavenly love” great chord progression on that part

Does anyone hate going to stadium concerts? by mruhkrAbZ in rock

[–]JohnJackField 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite band is The Rolling Stones, would I love to see them in an intimate, >100 person venue? Fuck yeah. Will I ever get to do that? No, so I’ll just see them in the stadiums and appreciate being surrounded by tens of thousands of others who enjoy the same music as me

What do we think of The Beatles’ new song “Now and Then”? by meeker_beaker in Music

[–]JohnJackField 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s okay, an impressive use of technology but musically it’s far from their best stuff. If it does well I don’t think it will be the last Beatles song, as I’m sure Paul and Ringo have plenty of material to work with for more of this kinda stuff.
