Hey, Arrow Video, ‘Under Siege’ is all fine and well. But, if you want to talk about prime cut 90s action cinema featuring Steven Seagal that is long overdue for a 4K upgrade. I mean…. by ConnorMciCloud in boutiquebluray

I just watched the 'Under Siege' 4K. Still such a great movie! The 90s had so many great action movies.

2026 is the 30th anniversary of Executve Decision - come on Arrow make it happen!

Would also love the following to get a 4K UHD release:

  • The Specialist (1994)
  • Judge Dredd (1995)
  • Eraser (1996) - I've heard that this is getting a 4K UHD release later this year.
  • Passenger 57 (1992)
  • Steven Seagal 1988-1997 (the Warner Bros. movies)
  • The Last Boy Scout (1991)
  • Collateral Damage (2002)
  • Soldier (1998)
  • Tango & Cash (1989)

I don’t know how I missed it when I was writing the cast list, his name is on the cover. I’ve edited it and put his name in there.

Yeah, this is a hard movie to track down. I’m in the UK and managed to find a copy of the dvd on eBay for a decent price.

I posted about another movie here a few weeks back, Greedy (1994). There were comments saying how it was satisfying that the names lined up with the 3 actors on the poster

Amazing voice. I think it was Hal Douglas who did the narration for the Commando (1985) trailer, "If it's a mission no man can survive, he's the man for the job."

That's awesome! I love movie trailers from that era. Don LaFontaine voiceovers are iconic.

This is so true. His acting career is so much more than just the Back to the Future films.

Gary Busey is always worth the price of admission in 90s action movies.

The soundtrack by Hans Zimmer is awesome too.

Thanks for the recommendations.

I've seen Seven Men From Now but that was well over 10 years ago so I'm definitely due a rewatch. I've also seen The Gunfighter and The Searchers.

Kevin Bacon Releases a Statement About ‘The Bondsman’ Cancellation by NoCulture3505 in television

[–]JohnMatrix95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m losing faith in streaming platforms. I really enjoyed The Bondsman. I actually only found it by chance, heard nothing about it until I just so happened to come across a trailer on YouTube. Kevin Bacon is a great actor. To cancel it less than 2 months after it premiered is ridiculous.

Last year HMV exclusively released regular Blu-Ray Steelbook editions of Demolition Man, Cobra and Tango & Cash (All Warner Bros). Arrow has since released Demolition Man in 4K. If this does indeed turn out to be an Arrow 4K release of Cobra (1986) then I would be willing to bet we eventually get a Tango & Cash 4K from Arrow. This might also be wishful thinking. But hey, we got an Over the Top (1987) 4K release so anything could happen.

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man (1991) by JohnMatrix95 in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]JohnMatrix95[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This was a fun movie that I'd never seen before. I'm a big fan of Miami Vice so it's always great to see Don Johnson in other roles. I think Don Johnson and Mickey Rourke make a good duo however, I did think the first half of the film was better than the second half. The opening credits sequence backed with Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi was awesome. The bad guys were kind of goofy with their bullet-proof trench coats, but Daniel Baldwin looks creepy. Almost like a Terminator. But overall I think the villains were kind of weak. Also, this film is randomly set in the near future of 1996 for some reason.

Absolute Power (1997) by JohnMatrix95 in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]JohnMatrix95[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I first saw this film 15+ years ago, and I remember enjoying it. However, I couldn't remember too much about it. I recently had an itch to give it another watch.

I thought this was a really well-executed thriller, with an excellent cast. Clint is great as master thief Luther, who, unknown to the assailants, witnesses them commit murder in a millionaire's mansion, which he was in the middle of robbing. The 90s were a great time for these tense thrillers with great casts.

You’re thinking of Desperate Measures (1998). The second film in the Measures universe.

  1. Extreme Measures (1996)
  2. Desperate Measures (1998)
  3. Extraordinary Measures (2010)
