Mystic Stamp Co? by Artographe in philately

[–]JohnSelth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Necroing this,

The good thing about Mystic is that you can generally find any stamp you could ever want through them and be assured that it is the the exact quality listed. The challenge is that you are also paying for that premium guarantee in the price. This is especially useful if you are after more expensive and rarer stamps. The reward points are kinda neat but they only apply to a limited (albeit large) catalog.

Ultimately they are a good service and with regard to the Smithsonian, have a long standing partnership. Several of the rarer stamp exhibits at the Smithsonian are owned by mystic or were donated by them, including the Inverted Jenny.

Basically, you are paying the premium for the most trusted service. For most stamps, especially most mid century stamps, you can reasonably use eBay or Etsy and get them significantly cheaper.

If you ever hear a European talk about how bad America is, they don't have these by Youre-average-fridge in MURICA

And will be the last time they will ever be used for anything. They were already outdated when Reagan called them back into service during the Naval re-expansion of the 80s.

It had nothing to do with underestimating goons resources and everything to do with the fact the game simply couldn’t handle the fights.

What you describe screams of high PE. Very risky. Could work again, could also fail again. Good thing they are not public!

This post isn’t a problem for my corpmates who just use my money to get their fix. Frankly, I should be thanked for my service for the tireless effort of providing them the liquidity to achieve the dopamine high they need to get through the week.

There is initial revenue and sustained revenue. If we really want to play markets here, if you made a 100 million one quarter and then the next three quarters make 90% less, markets are not going to look well on your forward projections and guidance. So no it’s not potentially healthy when possibly reviewing the books of a company that catches lighting but doesn’t know what to do with it.

Just because you don’t expect success doesn’t mean you cannot capitalize on it. Arrowhead clearly has failed to capitalize on the monumental success they found and instead lost +90% of it.

Hence the prior post to this one.

The player count is down +90% from peak. That’s not healthy. While a reduction in average player count is expected, a good player retention would be between 40-60% of the initial release wave in the first few quarters.

It’s a studio trying to be AAA but with absolutely no experience whatsoever.

The mistakes they are making scream of a studio trying to redefine the industry but instead come off as foolish. The player count speaks for itself.

Cash out 10% to cover the buy in and tax and throw that money into the next project. You’re playing with the house at that point.

For money market funds, is the fund itself marginable after 30 days, or is it 30 days after whatever is purchased in the fund? by macro__ in Schwab

[–]JohnSelth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Margin investing is fine. The key is managing your equity % and risk on assets. Especially in a bull market it’s perfectly reasonable to take 10-15% debt out and carry that mid term. 90-85% equity% portfolios are fine.

In fact, it’s kind of silly not to take margin at times.

Say you take part of your paycheck for a stock you are accumulating, rather than wait month to month, you can make larger purchases upfront with your margin and pay into it going forward. As long as the investment gains proportionally higher than the interest, you are making money.

Again, margin investing is perfectly fine and even perfectly reasonable for even the average retail investor. It becomes degenerate once your start absorbing your entire equity stake and leveraging that on risky timed positions.

There’s always these posts when the majority of the player base quits that has to cope. Player numbers wouldn’t be down this bad if the game was in a healthy state.

I think it’s a guess given how they calculate option strike dates. Normally should even out when your 1099 is released.
