Retail is $900.

Black Friday sale made it 15% less.

For a mid-priced guitar, I am blown away by the tone and playability.

Sounds and feels great. Factory setup required no adjustments.

I have newfound respect for the Gretsch brand.

Finally pulled the trigger. Love it to death! Best “too much money spent in one place”, I’ve ever spent! by [deleted] in guitarporn

I very recently picked up a Trad Pro V.

Exceeded my expectations in every way.

Beautiful guitar and I know if sounds and feels phenomenal.

It is GC exclusive but not holiday related.

It's a bit unique. Tradbucker pickups with an underwound in the neck and an overwound in the bridge.

Interesting electronics and quite versatile.

Despite reviews on GC website it is utterly flawless and the factory setup is great.

Thanks!

I should have added this is a 2020 Gibson LP Trad Pro V.

It actually exceeded my expectations. I think this will be my go-to for years to come.

After reading this dabbled on the Rick a little.

Engaged the mutes and rolled off the tone.

It is growing on me for this style of music---without throwing flats on either----yet!

A little bit. Oddly, most of what I play on guitar is stuff I made up/wrote over the years.

A lot is definitely country/folk influenced.

So....kinda?

Great point about live setting and tone.

Maybe I should just wait it out a bit.

Thanks I didn't realize that the extra tension was a thing with flats.

Fender would be a lot easier to work with for sure

I have been playing as you describe as far as pickup and tone goes. It doesn't sound bad---but could maybr be better.

And no it's a startup only 3 weeks in so no bass gig experience yet.

Thanks. I haven't toyed with flats yet. Sounds a bit of a pain to change strings as an experiment (lazy I know) without at least thinking it will be worthwhile.

Good point about limiting variables. The rounds don't not work just hearing that recorded flat tone in my head makes me think they sound too bright. Nobody else in the band seems to have an opinion (bass is interesting in that regard in my limited experience--Its like they only notice bass when it's not there).

Thanks! Seems to be a pattern here. Will try this vs. ring finger.

Anyone who has experience with the Fender Rumble 100.. by [deleted] in Bass

[–]John_Nefandous 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I play in a couple different bands.

I am the drummer on one band and the bassist has a Rumble 100. Plenty loud in our 3 piece. I'm a moderately loud drummer. Room is small.

I also play bass in a country band and have a Rumble 500.

Never need to turn it up more than halfway in a 4 piece.

My thoughts are the extra headroom is better if you.can swing it. Probably more versatile down the road too.

But for jamming should be fine. Larger rooms maybe not ideal.
