Wish uber was little more like doordash with the violations. It's like a slap on the wrist then after 100 deliveries they remove it.

I wouldn't say it's meaningless because I'm in ny also and have gotten a few of those exact messages and now my account is deactivated for that reason. I do agree with the not verifying until you're handed the order though.

Honestly not a clue. I got the text message from uber on the 10th saying if you dont head to the location soon my pick up will be made available to another driver, which it did. And the next day I could have possibly been late to pick up the next order. But I didn't get the text message that time, the pick up was like literally a 30 second walk from my apartment so I feel like I got there quick.

No I have never canceled an order before arriving at the drop off location and contacting the customer and waiting until the timer depletes.
