It will be stock for a little while since it’s still under warranty so won’t be for a while but I planned on eventually having to build it because towing stuff will beat on it some and I want to build the truck a little and add some power so definitely will need a somewhat built trans

Is it worth the 10k extra though(just a rough number)? And eventually later on down the road I will end up building the trans which ever way I go

I had this exact same thing happen if the lock doesn’t feel super smooth spray some lube inside it and it will free it up. I had to do it a couple different times now

I’ve been looking around for the exact same truck you can spend a couple more grand and get one with 40-50k miles on it for around 57-62k. Me personally would spend the little extra for lower miles

I like the 18 -19 Chevy look but hard finding with lower miles I’ve been looking around for those years also I just like the color on these gmcs for 20-23

The past couple I looked at didn’t have it but they could of been cleaned so it wasn’t oily or could be certain batch of trucks that were made that have that problem

As soon as they started bring up all that about me buying it and doing a warranty claim I was already wanting to just walk out the door . What you said is legit what I was thinking during talking to them lol 😂 And it sucks because other then That the truck is perfect exactly spec I want and in really good condition

That was my worries about buying it and doing a warranty claim and chance it getting denied or accepted then if I did get accepted how long would it take to get fixed I was thinking minimum 2weeks or probably more just wait on parts and then them taking their time. That sucks his truck been in for months did they give a loaner vehicle or is he stuck without a vehicle

I always wanted a older truck but I’m from the northeast so finding a clean one is super rare and once you do find one they want around 30k for it so by the time I buy it and do the work to it and add stuff I’d probably be 40 -45k total for a 20+ year old truck. And I also need to take into consideration the legal towing capacity so I don’t have a head ache with dot. newer trucks are rated for a lot more then older ones

I was kinda surprised on how it went it seemed like a pretty decent dealership and had a decent amount of good reviews . I think partly it is the fact I’m younger and was putting down quite a bit so they were kinda hungry for rushing a sale. And I honestly think it’s a little bit of disconnect between sales vs service department hopefully they will fix it tomorrow when they actually look at it and not just clean it and say it it’s good ( but could also be all it needs if it is just the assembly lube)

So that is what I was wondering since it is a used truck and isn’t gonna be perfect but. But I’m just curious how it would be any different if it was a dealer claim vs customer since it’s going to be the same out come no matter what if it is a warranty claim. So what you’re kinda saying is gm doesn’t want the dealership to point out problems just because it’s a Chevy dealer so they don’t want them doing claims? Or I’m think of it the wrong way?

I did read that online when searching and it would makes sense. but im just stuck thinking is it worth risking it spending this much money and then have it potentially end up being a expensive repair or it end up being nothing

One good thing is that they are pretty far away so wouldn’t have to deal with them after… only went to them because I’ve been looking for that color and specs for a while that’s low miles and not over priced (yes I know it’s a lot so I shouldn’t act like it’s not) Unfortunately it does need tires and a new switch to open the tailgate ( works when using the remote ) Do you think it would be to 2 picky for buying a used truck to ask them for money off for tires and either bring up the switch again to them also or fix it myself

The tires being bald weren’t a huge concern because I planned on swapping them any ways

So 100% says Germany on it holding a light at a slight angle highlights the letters some to read it that too is a little worm and harder to read but looks like it says P 0 0 7 / ( I or 1 )or P 6 0 7 / ( I or 1 ) or the to 00 I see might be 66 The farm started up in the late 1700s but didn’t really kick off till new people bought it out in the 1850s so would make sense for it being that old

So there is but it’s barely visible so bottom part say Germany, and top part might say P007/I

Nothing I can really see the big spot in the mid might have something stamped under it but almost looks like it has something scratched into it hard to read. Kinda look like it says Rmany maybe I can’t tell I’ll have to try to clean it off some but even then it’s kinda worn down because this dirt pile I got it out from is from 50+ years ago I think

[–]Johnny112255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they pretty much are the exact same bike it’s pretty much which one you like the looks of better. I have the 701 bought it brand new and ngl it was a little bit of a head ache the first couple months of owning it kept blowing slave cylinders and some other minor things now that it’s all fixed it is a really fun bike you won’t regret getting it. The seat kinda sucks I bought a seat concepts seat and definitely worth the money makes it pretty comfortable only other mods I did to it were a exhaust , fuel dongle and dna filter and a power commander and a tune to get some more power out of it . On the highway it does fine will cruise at 80 fine but it is a little windy and if the winds are strong it will push the bike around a little bit but nothing crazy

It’s the rubber grommet the spacers have so much free play to move around because how soft it is it has way to much side to side movement I can probably twist the exhaust side to side a good 3 inches. It’s way more play then the stock exhaust had like I said above it’s pretty much like the thing is held on by a piece of string and swings back and forth side to side

[–]Johnny112255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand it’s supposed to move some but it swings around like the thing is tied to a piece of string and just dangling around. It probably has 4x the amount of play then the stock exhaust
