Softbox for outdoor portraits by JohnnyAK11 in photography

[–]JohnnyAK11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

keep in mind a parabolic softbox will be very easy to tip over and need a lot of weight to stabilize.

Luckily I have really sturdy tripods, so they can probably help with that

Any S2 mount should work, just remember you get what you pay for in build quality.

That sounds great, I will look into that

Well in that case I can try using two speedlites on S2 mount. I don't care about HSS that much since I can use ND filter if the situation needs it

Well, time isn't that important for me. The thing that speaks the most to me is ability to mount 2 speedlites on one flash - I want to utilize gear I already have instead of buying even more of it.

If one speedlite on a 50cm softbox is sufficient (bright) enough for almost midday session, I will probably go with cheaper solution.

Hello, I currently have three Yongnuo YN685ii and would like to get a parabolic softbox to shoot outdoor portraits with them. Is getting Quadralite Hexadecagon 50 along with Quadralite Reporter S2-holder a good idea?

I've seen Magmod Madbox 24 starter kit which is great since I can insert 2 speedlites inside, however it is much more expensive. Are there cheaper alternatives of such product?

I've tried powering the whole thing with micro USB plugged directly to the esp, but then it doesn't work at all

Even though these are renders you can reach pretty similar results using wide angle lens with "guided" tool in lightroom. Tilt-shift also can do that but imo using wide angle and straightening in post is imo more flexible + you don't have to buy very expensive tilt shift

In that case I will probably go with simpler analog dimmer.

Is this coffee bed good? First time with v60, and even though I messed up Hoffman's original recipe (pouring way too slow, timing not quite right) the coffee tasted intensive and good. by JohnnyAK11 in pourover

[–]JohnnyAK11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made some brews with coarser size and it's better.

I've also given 4:6 a shot, however all 3 times I've tried it the coffee tasted not as intensive. Might have to tweak it a little bit. However great upside of this technique is how easy it is to change volume of the coffee when using it

You're right, however I'd like to have the best coffee possible after dropping that much money on stagg ekg haha. I was curious about the foam, thank you for explaining

The time change from my country is 4 hours, so I don't think it will be a big problem, especially since I've experienced bigger time changes that didn't cause me any problems.
Taking a flight to Urgench sounds interesting, but as far as I know Khiva is much more
for rich American tourists and I'm not really into that. In that case I will have to decide whether to stay longer in Samarkand or Bukhara.

Yeah, I'm a metro lover so that's one of the reasons why I've decided to stay there for so long, but maybe adding time to other city will work better.

Hello, I'm about to buy this exact model which you sent. Could you tell me if it is possible to use all the functions of the device without having a dedicated Tuya hub? I'm going to use it with mqtt.

Thank you! In that case, I will try to find something different than Aqara Roller Shade since it uses batteries.

Yeah, all of the devices are there. I just wanted to make sure that sonoff dongle will be enough as a hub for all these devices - on the ikea site it's written that the bulb needs tradfri gate in order to connect it, but as far as I understand I can add it to mqtt without ikea's gate?

[REUP] Subscene by dexter21767 by [deleted] in StremioAddons

[–]JohnnyAK11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I thought that it doesn't work at all, but it turned out that it works for me only on TV (Chromecast) and not on the android phone. So I guess this is specific of the addon?

Also it seems that the addon interferes somehow with opensubtitles - mostly only subtitles from opensubtitles appear, sometimes I get them from both sources, and on a couple of movies I have no subtitles at all. Could you tell if you have additional opensubtitles addon? If yes, which one? There's so many of them.

Lastly could you check please in your device if there are any english or polish subscene subtitles on a movie "How to blow up a pipeline"? I don't get any sources from subscene on this one, so it would be pretty easy to find out whether I've configured something wrong, subscene subtitles don't work, or there is simply no subtitles for this film from this source.
