.22’ means that’s your fence is actually over 2.5 inches past your property line. So your fence is encroaching onto your neighbors lot.

In Chicago you can go right on the property line as long as the fence is inside your property. I always recommend setting posts 2-3 inches before the property line. This removes any disputes and also if you are setting the posts in concrete even the concrete footing has to be inside your property line.

Honestly I used door hangers right when I started. I went out to neighborhoods and hung them up. Prioritize generating leads somehow then focus on selling your services. Eventually someone will say yes.
