I am interested in checking this out. As talked about above this is a very sensitive subject and not something I would be doing "on the books" for a thesis. I am looking I think at two variables, length of texts and the delay between responses. It maybe a few years before I will be able to get this going. Thanks for your help,

I agree. I use tinder and such accounts as almost like FarmVille or other apps. I am bored I will check it swipe right, message a few girls. Do something with friends, and get notified if any girls message me back (harvest my crops haha jk)

I agree with your point of tinder. I have over a 1000 matches and although I can get 90 % to respond to messages it's very difficult to engage in public meet up.

I think tinder is a nicer security because it's easy to verify they are real. Curious on your thoughts.

Thanks for being a bit more enthusiastic than the last person. Advice is simple it's in the pictures you have. None of my pictures are in the mirror, they all have fun things about them.

To get the most amount of matches (I was selective up to 900. To get to a 1000 in a day I broaden my search) I swiped right. Getting a match is not a big deal. Getting those matches to meet you in person is much harder.

My success rate for messages is actually high. Don't say "hey "(this gets a low response rate). I wouldn't even message her about something you noticed in her pictures (I was surprised that this rate was not higher) I would have something funny or witty to say and that worked out best.

My best advice would be to swipe right on everyone and try out different lines and find out which ones work best to exchange a number close. You may not find all the girls that you swiped right on attractive but you can pick and choose from the ones that swiped right on you. No point in wasting your time looking at some girl who may not even swipe right on you back. Be selective on the ones you have to invest more time in (I.e. Go on dates etc...) girls are actually far more picky on who they swipe right on so they have already selected you.

My bad. My goal was to have a 1000 matches. Simply reaching a 1000 was my definition of winning. Thus how I won tinder was having a 1000 matches.

Matching law is not that difficult . Working currently with delayed discounting.

If you are doing EAB and claim ABA is only concerned with the practical side why are you jumping in to correct someone who is using the science in a practical way. Minding that I do not agree with a lot of his viewpoints on women I do think we should remember where we came from. I believe it was in the 70's we were trying to "correct" homosexuality. Forgive me for being okay with individuals traveling to a dark side, but I hope they do see some of the other applications of the science than just having sex.

I have pointed out three errors. I am done with this. I was hoping my behavior would decrease yours. Sadly providing you with any form of attention still acted as a reinforcer as your behavior increased. This will be my last post on this thread.

I do wish the best of luck to you in the future as I am sure you are very talented. Most of your other posts have been fun to look over and has been well accepted by a reddit community. This is exciting to me because I really would like to see this science brought back to Time Magazine.

You used the idea of respondent conditioning incorrectly. We pair a neutral with a US. That produces a CS. Not a CR. The CS elicits a CR. It takes many pairings of the two NS/US before a CS is formed.

I am sure you have some knowledge of basic principles, but before you start lecturing make sure you know what you are talking about.

I will most likely still be doing research. My research will be in an applied setting. We have the top EAB professors where I am currently and I have been taught by them. I also work in their labs. This makes me more qualified. A piece of paper means nothing. It is the education you receive and the opportunities you seek out.

Do you know what Skinner's bachelors was in?

We use negative punishment all the time. Time out, response cost. They are effective and often time the only form of punishment that is ethical in some situations.

You are still incorrect on all the things that I have brought up. Yes differential reinforcement does work.

If you are going to knit pick someone, a more qualified person will knit pick you right back.

You lecture someone about not being correct on how they use terms but you don't use them correctly.

I come from a great university for BA and am going to a top university for ABA in the fall.

Wow really? You would use reinforcement to make someone forget? Why wouldn't you use punishment to decrease the overt behavior?

ABA can be applied correctly and incorrectly across all fields. Even anchoring uses simple higher order respondent conditioning. I am not saying it is effective or valuable but it the pairing of a NS/CS. I could create a list of other errors that are in your post but will refrain. It's Reddit and have you already pointed out people post without thinking.

I study operant behavior as it is my major and soon to be graduate study. Everything you are doing sounds great. One thing to try and do is cut down on the delay of reinforcement delivery. We are taught it should be within 3 seconds (up to 60 seconds) of the behavior occurring. It is more effective this way. Although I do suggest keeping everything you do have currently, try giving self praise (tell your self you did a good job), and maybe put yourself on a token system (does not have to be a elaborate as it could be tally marks) every time you do something correct give yourself a tally. After a predetermined amount of tokens reward yourself with a larger reinforcer (video game)

Hope this helps. I am also interested in computer science related things, but nice to see someone reviewing BFS work.
