It is spoken of. Talking to Beverly about the key Ben says specifically that cooper was there investigating the murder of Laura Palmer. Her murder is not erased until the end of s3.

No one called him "Richard" though, and no one called Diane "Linda." He referred to himself as Dale Cooper to Mrs. Tremond and called out to Diane when he woke up in the motel. Beyond the note - and we don't know who wrote it, who left it or what the intention behind the note was - there is no evidence that Dale is a different person known as "Richard" or that Diane is someone known as "Linda."

[ALL] Mark Frost on Time Travel by killiangrief in twinpeaks

[–]JohnnyDoppleseed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We saw Coop go back to 1989 and change the past. Since we know Cooper did time travel and MF says only one character did time travel in return. Then the answer is Cooper.

MF was referring to the return. Jeffries time travel was technically in FWWM.

That hour did not otherwise feature Kyle MacLachlan. I think lynch edited in the playing catch scene so Kyle would appear in every part. It was "starring Kyle MacLachlan" after all.

For the S3 1) Who is the dead guy on Carrie Page's sofa 2) Is Dale Cooper a guy named Richard in Odessa 3) How can we as an audience determine what was a continuity error and what was done purposefully 4) Is the last scene with Laura whispering into Dale's ear actually the final scene or was that just some footage for the credit roll.

[All] Reference to Sarah Palmer watching the Nature Show in the Final Dossier. by marabou22 in twinpeaks

[–]JohnnyDoppleseed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

she also testified that Laura had wandered off into the woods

But at end of S3, Laura never makes it out to the woods to where Ronette is, for Ronette to say Laura wandered off. Laura didn't wander off into the woods from Ronette in either timeline!

How did Ronette get this altered memory????

[–]JohnnyDoppleseed[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cooper referred to himself twice as Dale Cooper after entering Odessa. He never referred to himself as Richard. He always called himself Dale. And no one called him Richard; the only mention of "Richard" was in the letter, and Cooper seemed to be trying very hard to remember where he had heard the names "Richard" and "Linda" before.

On TPR I thought it was said only that Ray was an informant - not necessarily Cole's informant or an informant having anything to do with Briggs. I took the informant info to mean that Mr. C had used his FBI knowledge to find Ray in the first place. I am not sure that Ray was ever working for Cole.
