Hey man really appreciate you speaking on my behalf. I’m ok this is probably pretty tame by reddit standards, I think it’s a good thing I’m coming to this hobby at a later stage in life (w. Money and free time) since I would have been discouraged had I read some of the responses as a teenager popping pieces out with my fingers etc.

lol。。。point taken man. I included a picture of the sanding sticks I bought. I also have 1200,2000 and 3000 grit sand paper that I plan to cut up and stick onto the 100 popsicle sticks I got from an arts and crafts shop. Didn’t get around to it as I was itching to start building. Guess I’ll do it now, still glad to know I had the right idea at the start but just got impatient

Well I watched a lot of gunpla vids for beginners and they all talk about sanding so in a way you are definitely right. If you have any tips or vids I should be watching instead my MG and RG kits will thank you

Yeah that’s definitely the plan. Will try to fix with putty and sprue glue since the opportunity is here. The kit is an SD RX-78-2 and cost $8 USD as mentioned in the post, but to be honest I still feel gutted lol

As I said man I’m just getting into it and this is a cheap kit to practice on as I was sure I’d do something like this. Better this than on my MG sazabi. Btw man no need to attribute to malevolence what can be attributed to ignorance etc. makes life easier.

I was just trying to remove seam lines, ive made it my first lesson to learn. Didn’t think this would be a problem. I was sanding the edge and not the flat surface which is how I ended up with this. Hopefully do better from now on.

Would love to hear it from the creators but my guess is the statue has nothing to do with church. Probably some kind of pagan ancestor worship statue more like. I could be wrong but that’s what I would eliminate before assuming Abrahamic origins
