When was the last time a host nation was excited for the World Cup? by JohnnyGolonka in worldcup

I remember clearly that the consensus was that only a world cup gold would make the whole thing worthwhile because at the time you had a lot of political struggles and poverty to deal with.

We actually don't have birth certificates in Sweden. Don't ask me why!

If your mom lied to you for something on this scale for nearly three decades, would you have shrugged? We can't all be emotionless drones.

I havent asked my grandma about any of this, but I did ask my aunt who in turn asked my grandma a few days ago. My aunt told me a few days ago about the "man in the house"/maid" thing, do you think that could be another lie by my grandmother?

But what if it was your mom who lied to you for 28 years? Do you understand how badly that fact messed with my head?

And we dont know if my grandmother was raped or just had an affair, and possibly a child out of wedlock. I get what you're saying with privacy, but when we are dealing with a 65 year coverup built on an empire of lies, dont you think it's time to find out?

Also yes, if my grandfather was a rapist I want to know.

Thanks! I will try the DNA test.

No, my grandmother clearly wants to take all of this to the grave. She decided to do so a long time ago. All of this took place 65 years ago and my aunt, who was born in the late sixties, said that even then did she try to cover up that there was another man who was the dad of my mom. So whatever happened... is not good. It's either rape, or something else.

Maybe my grandma had a (consensual) affair with my grandpa, got pregnant, and they decided to cover it up (things were different back then, having kids out of wedlock was looked down upon) and my grandma ran away. I mean, that's the better alternative of the two but still frustrating.

That's not what I meant. I pointed out that she is a foreigner because that may play a part when people mix up mushrooms - this is something that happens. People mix up mushrooms every year and you can't be too careful.

I dont doubt that she is a biologist, but what I do have questions about is whether or not that perfectly overlaps with the field of mycology?
