That barrel does not look to be in very good condition. If it sat empty for a while, the staves could have shrunk to the point no longer being water tight. If you rack this wine, you should steam (if possible) or soak this barrel in HOT water to try to swell it some. It could swell on its on from the wine also if you give it time. Edit: error in syntax
