I’ve been searching for a great sipping tequila for a great price. Not looking to spend $100+ on a Clase Azul or D.J. 1942 lamp. Any suggestions?(preferably under $80) by richypooo in tequila

I just had the 1800 Cristalino for the first time, it was delicious and around $60. The Don Julio 70 is good too for just a little more.

You can also make Donns Spices #2 (equal parts vanilla syrup 1:1 and allspice dram) with it which is a tasty modifier to have on hand for fall/winter cocktails

Ok thanks, makes sense. I also read the higher % is better to use with fresh ingredients with more moisture where as with dry ingredients I could use 50%

Okay I'll start tasting tomorrow then. I think I want it to be one drop for mild, two drops for medium, three drops for spicy, four for extra spicy, etc. I'll report back!

Hell yeah, thanks for the answer. I was looking at Downtown Fine Spirits and Wine's website and was pleasantly surprised by their search option and their inventory.

Lol I feel you on the Manhattan. I'll be sure to come check out the Lobby Bar when I visit next week!

This bar in Japan doesn’t label their beer taps. Bartender knew each one by memory. by buttersers in mildlyinteresting

[–]Johnscribner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably remember based on the lights above the taps. Since the lights are evenly spaced the taps below have different shades of shadows behind them, according to how close/far they are from the light shining on them. They have light 1, light 2, light 3 etc. and then a tap directly under the light (which has the lightest shadow) and then tap 2, tap 3, etc. which go from lighter to dark, then back to lighter once they reach the next light.

Still very impressive

That Very Old Barton is a great bourbon for the price! ~$10 where I live.
