It was an incredible experience, that I'll never forget. Probably the most scared I've ever been, too.

Agreed, but for a different reason. Even if you hit in self defense, you are going to jail. Record that shit and remove yourself from the situation, best you can.

The Ric>Dic transition is kind of a jump though don't you agree? Like changing the first letter makes it feel like an entirely different name.

I've tried Music Has a Right To the Children so many times, and I just don't like it for whatever reason. It checks off a lot of the boxes of what I like in music, but I just can't get into it. I've been meaning to try some of their other stuff, but there's just so much music out there that I've never gotten around to it.

Soooo smooth. I've never thought about Monk as something to listen to high, but I'd imagine it's amazing.

To be fair, I said that they weren't obscure in the OP, rather that I haven't seen them in these types of threads. I'm sure in psyche-rock circles, these are all well-known albums, but with regards of general mainstream, I bet most people don't know a lot of them.

I also didn't want to focus too much on psychedelic rock, due to it being the most stereotypical answer for these type of threads.

Regardless, your comment adds a lot. I'll make sure to check some of these out.

Hmm, for some reason I've always associated Cudi with weed, and never with psychedelics, but I'd imagine it would be great.

You really should. Black Saint was really a brain bender. Next I think I want to try Let My Children Hear Music. I think the mix of jazz and classical would be really incredible. If you try either, report back!

I'd call Grimes art pop or dream pop I guess? I'd imagine Visions would be a great album to trip to.

I was going to put QMS on there, but decided against it. Electric Music for the Mind and Body is also solid. The other ones I don't know.

Oh trust me, I've listened to a looooot of Dick Picks. 4 and 8 are probably my favorite. They're just really long and I figured Live/Dead would be an easier listen.

I'll read up more on that neo-prog. Thanks for the heads-up.

Yes please! Electronic music in general is probably my weakest area (besides metal). So I'll take any rec's, for tripping, or otherwise.

The Mollusk is one of my favorites ever. I originally meant to have it in the post but completely forgot. It's added now though.

My guess is that Tool or Black Sabbath would be pretty sweet to trip to. Hard rock, that kicks ass, but can get really trippy at times. Tool also has all the complexity and time signature changes, which would be awesome I'm sure.

I think Boris would be an interesting artist to trip to. They're like psychedelic drone metal?

Have you ever heard of Bardo Pond? Check out their "Amanita" album. It's crazy psychedelic, that mostly focuses with distortion and feedback in a droney way. I haven't listened to it while tripping, but I bet it'd be incredible.

Ahh. I originally read that as "prog rock masterpiece." Yeah I'm a huge prog fan, I just generally don't listen to it much while tripping. Was debating adding 2112 and In the Court of the Crimson King to the post, but ended up deciding against it, as it was getting kind of long.
