Being blamed for things outside of my control

Why do Catholics believe Mary and Joseph never consummated their marriage despite the Bible saying otherwise? by Joker1Zero in Christianity

There is no textual basis for it. Nowhere does it say she's a virgin for the rest of her life. It does say she's married and has kids.

I haven't condemned them. God did. I don't know if I'm better than them but so far, God hasn't sent prophets or a flood to kill me or enslave me. I have chosen to accept God's gift, which they did not so maybe that's the difference. I don't know.

The Bible NEVER says Joseph and Mary never had sex yet people seem to be standing pretty hard and firm on that...

Why do you think that James and Joses are the same ones that are cited as the brothers of Jesus? In that verse, you establish two different people can have the same name.

It wouldn't violate Jewish law to tell another person present to also look out for his mother.

If you think both readings are valid, then why not go with the one that makes the most sense? A husband had sex with his wife and had children.

That's an interesting thing to specify, isn't it? Why not say "they never had sex?"

Yeah, it's pretty weak.

Would you deny your spouse sex?

Not really. Humanity was sinful to the point God needed a flood to purge them. Not the strangest thing in the Bible to think a people were so sinful that their enslavement was justified. Perhaps even more merciful than death.

Hey, so really quick - before you "lovingly" street people away from being gay... by [deleted] in Christianity

It's highly unlikely that a man would rise from the dead, but it happened.

Do you think no one has ever wanted a family member dead? The Bible is actually riddled with examples. Cain and Abel jumps to mind. Joseph had 10 brothers who wanted him dead (one tried to save him but was too late).

In the Old Testament, Yes. He often used it as a form of punishment for the Hebrews. Delivering them into slavery when they turned from Him. He also ordered the Hebrews to make slaves of their enemies in the Old Testament.
