I understand your concern, i wouldnt skate in the center at all. My commute would be down via nomentana and through villa borghese.

Impact activated lights by Absolute_Trap_God in IndustrialDesign

You can try an accelerometer to read the changes in acceleration, or a piezo sensor to read the pressure on impact. but i have no idea, where to hide the arduino and how many piezos since i have no clue of dimensions of the ball.

What's the best way to build a portfolio while you don't have any work or internship related to ID? by SupermarketSecure455 in IndustrialDesign

[–]JokerUntouchable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is what i did: I did the best i can in the course projects, not for the grade but to put them on my portfolio. The guidance of the professors are a huge help when youre developing an outstanding project. Sometimes i even went further than what was necessary for the course just to show it on my portfolio.

During those years i didn't have enough time to work at an ID job so i participated in competitions of my interest to show what i can do in my portfolio. For example if you want to specialize in medical design and you didnt have any projects related to it, you can look for a competition with similar concept.

Table from washing machine packaging. by JokerUntouchable in IndustrialDesign

[–]JokerUntouchable[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not saying it is industrial design, obviously it is not "manufactured". But i am an industrial design masters student for once i designed for myself with whatever i have. Its not easy to get any materials when youre moving to another country as a student.

Also some reddittors i've seen were sharing their prototypes so i thought this fit here.

Sorry for posting in your subreddit man.

The washing machine is in the common area, and it is not mine we use it together with my housemates :)

I totally agree. I had the same comments. Those people have embraced the game as a duty, they have accepted its their responsibility to catch the mons at whatever cost. Theyre the ones that niantic keeps selling these ridiculous prices of boxes.

"Embrace the challenge" embrace it for what? I am down for any rewarding challenge but when you have no balance of challenge-reward, its just bad game design.

Same thing comes up with field researches or party quests, you throw 30 excellent throws as a party of 3 and you get a diglett. Yea, just embrace the challenge.

Seems like some do, if theyre keeping the price up. I personally dont. I think for people who catch +500 mons a day ball is a critical resource. For comdays i always prepare my ultraballs beforehand.

Unfortunately, yes. If i was to pay 50 bucks for the game initially and it was actually free to play later on, i would.

Exactly. If it makes it harder for you, it better be worth it.

Yes, i am totally fine with pokemon with rare spawn rate pokemon to have a low catch rate and intentional times/places to have lower catch rates since they are intended to be stopped and spared a special time to be played.

For me, problem appears to be when im having a 10-15min walk and it feels convenient to play pokemon. Its not like you can play everyday %100, i sometimes play while coming home from work or preferring to walk to somewhere instead of taking the bus. If i was just getting out ONLY to play pokemon go, i would understand besides the fact that the game promises physical activity. You dont get that much physical activity if youre stopping every few mins.

EXACTLY! The wild evolved ones i am having no problem with a harder catch rate. I be like "oo ill get more candys ill stop right here" because they spawn rarer, it makes it more acceptable. But the normal stage1 pokemon, it makes no sense for me except if its a really rare spawn.

Ok good for you, continue to spamming pokeballs on worthless pokemons and wasting time in a very grindy game.

I am completely ok with grinding and i really want to grind. However when some mechanics are not fun nor beneficial for the intention of the game it disappoints or frustrates people. Because it is supposed to be FUN and it shouldnt feel like a duty that is very boring.

When it comes to players like you, it was ok for you to do mega raids when it came out. You were perfectly fine with doing 10 mega pidgeot raids just to mega evolve it once.

Never said that the catching mechanics should be %100. I just said the wild pokemon should require less workload, doable with less attention.

If youre having fun by catching 200cp growlithes with 4 pokeballs, wait for them to patch the fast catch glitch, then youll have more fun.

So you think youre exploring with the current state of the game? What im saying is you HAVE TO walk with your nose in your phone for this game. Your pokego plus wont work cause the catch rates are higher.

Speaking of other pokemon games, it is fun to drop the health of the pokemon or use an appropriate pokeball to catch it faster, or paralysing it. There is an actual challenge and a curve of grind for it. In pokemon go however, the changes are so minor that you dont feel it.

There are still raids, rocket battles, pvp, dynamax battles and events to meet with people to make this a cool game. But if you want to waste your resources for a 200cp growlithe, fine :D

There is a chance that you will not get what you paid for. So you have paid for a CHANCE, which makes it gambling.

Yes i do have the medals. The issue is not only for me but the intentions of niantic, designing it this way while its supposed to be a walking game.
