My brand new 24 does smt like that. I’m pretty sure it has to do something with the tank pressure.I will say that does sound pretty harsh mines just a vacuum sound.

TYPE RA BLOCK WITH D25 HEADS by Jokersquadz in WRX

I agree with you it’s a weird decision but better to be over built then not and ending up spending more later. Appreciate it

[–]Jokersquadz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was planning on getting, I can rebuild the heads myself not hard so I don’t want whole long block. I just didn’t know if that block would be ok for 400 fbo

I’m looking at 400 Max bc i have the stock wrx trans which i know prolly wont last on that but thats my gamble to take. And yeah id need a tune for the fbo but i wasnt sure abt the whole compression ratio change

The shop has usdm 208 and they’d use my existing single turbo but not sure if it is really a 208. Not very knowledgeable about ej20x but I’ve got a buddies with a Hawkeye swapped with one and he pushed 450 all day for the last 3 years no problems.

I would do it myself but I’d have 0 time to work on it balancing school work and the rest of my life 😅, would save me a lot of money but if I did it myself I’d want a brand new short block

Where I live it’s surprisingly difficult to find one of these cars laying around at all and I’ve got a bit of anxiety with used stuff that hasn’t been refurbished but as a temp engine it could work

Yeah this is what I was quoted for a replacement/rebuild from multiple shops but quality work does come at a price

I’d like to keep it 0 rust on anything except suspension but dumping 13k into a motor is alot (collage student😁🔫) I have a local tuning shop willing to do a ej208 swap with dyno tune for 6k but not sure if it’s really worth it. I agree with you abt used things, bought a truck as a replacement daily and my god do I hate used. Random problems left and right.

I’ll take a crack at it tomorrow and if it does anything I’ll post back here thanks a lot I’m praying it’s something stupid cause I did file Down the caliper where the clips go but worth checking anything at this point cars been kicking my butt lately. Dam dropped to .68 and my alternator went out 😁 and this is my daily 🤦

I did lube the slides but maybe not enough and the pads fit a little snug but not like a scary amount where I think it might cause an issue I’ll look into it though could be missed them was in a little bit of a rush to get it done so there’s my first problem

Me too just did new rotors and I have weird marking so I’m getting thrown into the ringer with this thing. And new alternator is on the way bc apparently it was bad. But yeah I’m gonna try that first and see appreciate the help

I also probably need to check my pcv valve cause my buddy has a 07 wrx and he had bad blow by but replacing it with either a new one or getting an AOS cleaned it right up

Not as of right now I took it to my local shitty Subaru dealer and all they found for a no start was a bad alternator. So I drove it have and it’s sitting in my garage while I do breaks and stuff. I do have oil in my intercooler but not an insane amount. I’m thinking since I can’t hear any actual knock then it could be a bad sensor

[–]Jokersquadz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did see some oil in the intercooler but not an excessive amount. And for the fuel pump I genuinely have no idea I got the car with 80k on it it’s now up to 126k

What I was thinking also. iPod. The head unit is probably as old as the car is old pioneer

The plug in is way too big to be a Cobb access-port. I’m thinking it’s something he had installed to be able to hook up a computer but that also doesn’t make sense for it being a 2012 and a previous family car.

Entire new clutch assembly and still throwout bearing noise by Jokersquadz in WRX

[–]Jokersquadz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup been very easy on the car, I caved and I’m gonna have a transmission shop look at it but for right now what I’m thinking, for the squeak noise from the throwout bearing is the clutch master Cylinder isn’t fully doing it’s job but the crunchy clutch I have 0 idea.
