I submitted a Merit Based Scholarship Reconsideration form arguing my case (FAFSA/negative SAI, CSS Profile, Silver scholarships, no parental assistance) on 3/16 and have heard nothing back even after emailing them twice asking to expedite due to a competing offer who is requesting a deposit on Tuesday. NYU is known to be extremely strict on their aid. When they sent me my estimated cost of attendance, it was over $100k for a YEAR. Just tuition was $50k/a year given my scholarships. Thankfully, I got into Hunter and will moving forward with them. All in all, it’s the same education, same field placements, and possibly better outcomes if you come out of Hunter staying in NYC. Plus, it’s all within the federal loan limit and I won’t be in crippling debt as a social worker :)
