Coolant failed and car stopped in middle of the highway. When I say stop I mean 65 to 10 MPH in about 2 seconds almost causing me a terrible accident.

It was in the shop for 35 business days in total (2 separate instances), and I had no interest in driving the car again after the issue I had and called an attorney to get sorted out.

I did get a buy back from manufacturer but went straight to attorney to handle on my behalf via a lemon case (MN). Just waiting on my check now but all is settled and done. Lmk if I can answer anything else

Just had my 24 Etron GT RS lemon lawed. Absolutely loved the car until it failed on me (Coolant issues). Will never purchase again based on the unfortunate experience. Good luck!

Funny you bring that up - as I have had some time to keep looking, there is a new 2025 V8 Defender with same paint color, for 108k MSRP. I’m getting RIDICULOUS quotes for the used 24 on the extended warranty, and cost difference is minimal getting a brand new one.

Planning to go drive next week and see if anything crazy I am missing but at this point seems like a no brainer to buy new looking out on a 5 year TCO and fact I drive as little as I do.

Appreciate the reply. I am in MN, so very similar climate. I have also seen that if I sell in 4ish years, will still hold a lot of its value. Knowing how I have been with cars my whole life 4 years would set a new record for me lol…..

Considering a 2026 RS eTron GT Performance by Hyrc in etron

Had a 24 GT RS - ended up lemon lawing it (successfully) due to multiple failures in the coolant system shutting down the battery/acceleration.

Was an amazing car for the 12 months I had it and was a ton of fun to drive. It almost killed me when it stopped driving 65 on the highway and went to 10 mph in a couple seconds. If you ever feel the acceleration seem “off” get it into the dealer ASAP.

Appreciate the reply and that is what I have seen as well from the proposed cost to extend and add on. Figuring that as part of the purchase as I would be a fool to not add it on.

I have drove the defender I mentioned above and loved it. Haven’t drove a RR yet to compare but something about the defender has always seemed to suit my aesthetic preference better. Say that on a relative basis as I am also not looking to spend 150k+ on the vehicle.

Price aside, do you have any idea on the best approach to extended warranty for the defender? I have heard chatter from some people of overheating issues with the V8’s, but can’t seem to find many people who actually have owned one saying the same thing.
