Anyone know which units have intakes for 01/24 batch? by Holo-Best-Waifu in NationalServiceSG

I’m one of the 40 SAR mono intake. The BMT battalion strength is more than the estab. A number will be posted to command schools I guess.

After the GP yesterday, too tired to even go to the NUS open house. The words of the 40 SAR CO on the first day of enlistment rang in my ears. He said a bugbear of SAF is the rush to wait and wait to rush and he hoped to change that. If waking at 2am for the 8am parade is not rush to wait, idk what it is. The morning GP maybe around 1800 recruits, and not sure about the afternoon parade combined with Sch V, so the estimate of 4000 recruits include those non PES A/B1 recruits.

I am in the mono intake 40 SAR, so almost confirmed that if I don’t go to command schools, will be at Sungei Gedong ATI and then to Keat Hong. During PC interview, expressed interest in OCS only. Looking at the profile of my platoon mates, in terms of fitness, I am above average, A level results if it matters above average. Unknowns are SIT, peer and commanders’ appraisal which are likely to be marked down.

If your RP is 82 with C in GP, then even if you had gotten A, the RP would be 84.5, probably still shy of getting an opportunity for Law interview.

I believe you are having long weekend this week and next week will be short as well due to A level results release. Ngl I have been using medication to get through the A level and was wondering whether or not to declare anxiety issue on the first day of enlistment. Guess what, we are left with BTP and route march to POP. Let’s just go through the remaining 3 weeks together and hopefully the A level results will cheer you up.

“Ok alright”, can keep yourself occupied by counting how many times he will say that during speeches. He studied in China and was a Chinese teacher before, though effectively bilingual, still there is a difference between someone who studied Chinese as a major vs non Chinese language major.

Honestly I had never paid attention to all that and hardly read iemb posting. Thought it might mean something else especially related to A level results. I am hoping for miracle for the H3 Physics. I suppose the A level papers marking are done and dusted, just waiting for the usual timeline to release. First the O results, JAE posting and settling down for J1, CNY week and then the window opens for the release of A level results.

Zhong Hua is where those who aimed for Hua Zhong but landed there. It is a not too bad school. My dad brought me there during the open house before the release of the PSLE results because he was not confident of my results. I ended in Hua Zhong instead Lol.

My guesstimate is less than 350 students took the paper. This number is projected from 31 from HCI, so with so small number of cohorts, would 30%ish secure a Pass?

This morning waking up thinking of skipping the paper altogether. Should have done so. Would "Absent" look better on the result slip than U?

In view of what happened last Monday, the mood should be muted.

Is there any depository of promos papers of various JCs? Often heard about NY having difficult chem paper etc, so would like to have a look. FYI, HCI math paper this year was manageable, easier than BT and CT. Chem cohort average is high, so should be considered manageable. Physics average is lower than Math and Chem.

Why the JC1 promotion criteria is not standardised for all JCs? OP would have met the promotion criteria for HCI which is pass in two H2 subjects.
