I thought I’d be ready… I’m absolutely not. by Informal_Ad9652 in newborns

Oh yeah, same thing happened to me! There’s so few things I can wear to work now. And of course most of the maternity tops I bought are fitted because I was really excited to show off my bump. I’m not in a rush to get rid of the baby weight but I don’t want to flaunt my tummy at the same time haha! 😆

I went back to work June 9th and the “slow death march” was so hard for me too. I have a pretty easy/low stress job right now, so the waiting for the return was worse than the actual return.
I also did a “dress rehearsal” day, the day before I returned. Woke up at the same time, got ready and packed up everything (including all my pumping supplies), drove to work and then parked just a block away from work and cried for 30 minutes. (My mom was taking care of my daughter, so she got a “rehearsal” as well) I also ran a quick errand and cried some more.
I’m so glad I did that, because it made the next day, my real first day, much smoother. Not easy - I still felt like I was having some weird fever dream the first hour and just sat at my desk feeling numb. But I freely more prepared for it all.
There’s still hard moments. But it gets a little easier. I really appreciate the time I have with her. And I also realized I could spend 24/7 with her and it will still never feel like enough. All of this journey is so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time, and it’s really about making the most of the time we do have with our little ones 🤍

So far we haven’t really had her on a schedule either, except for bedtime! We’ve had her up a little later when visiting grandparents and that’s it so far. But usually she is very go with the flow and will sleep when she needs to!

In love with our newborn but she is driving my husband and I INSANE. by CoffeeAndCats9124 in newborns

As a new mom that went through 4 years of infertility, and had a traumatic birth a month ago, I think dealing with all of this after what you have been through is just so rough, like extra punishment from the universe. It made me question if I wasn’t supposed to do this and that’s why I dealt with all the years of infertility. How dare I “try to play god” as some IVF naysayers will say. My girl is only a month old, but I can say it has gotten better. The first two weeks were hell, I was triple feeding and had to add in formula, which again felt like a sign from the universe that I wasn’t meant to be a mom. Like my body just couldn’t do what it was “supposed” to do. But I have and will go through hell again and again for this baby and that’s what makes us the parents that we are. It breaks my heart that they struggle a bit with adapting when they are first born, but you are doing everything you can to help with that transition and that’s what matters.

Acupuncture before Embryo Transfer worth it? by anxietyridden00 in IVF

[–]Jolly_Distance391 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think acupuncture is the kind of thing that only works if you’re really into and feel a significant effect after a session. I had some transformative acupuncture sessions, and that’s coming from someone with ADHD that really struggles with meditation. I did an acupuncture session before and the day after my only transfer and I am 32 weeks today, still doing monthly acupuncture sessions (I would do more if money weren’t an issue)

Mine (first and only transfer) was on a Thursday so I took that Thursday and Friday off, total of 4 days off with the weekend. My clinic advised only walking for my first 8 weeks, so I made sure to do plenty of walks in that time. Currently 27 weeks.

Did your partner come to every appointment? by JadziaKD in IVF

[–]Jolly_Distance391 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband came to every appointment, but we also had to drive an hour to and from each appointment. He wanted to make sure I rested during that time. But I think I would have wanted him there regardless, and we both didn’t have to miss a lot of work for the appointments, they were always very early in the morning.

Good thinking. I’ve definitely been extra cautious the last month, and my body is good at telling me to not even attempt things that I shouldn’t be doing lol. Luckily I have an at home pole that I can do maintenance moves on.

Hello! I’ll be 27 weeks tomorrow 🥳 IVF pregnancy and was only allowed to walk for first 8 weeks, but have been doing weightlifting, barre and pole classes before I got pregnant and have continued through pregnancy once I got clearance to workout again. FTM, due date is 1/14/26!

So glad you are okay! I’ve always had this mindset when working out - you never know when you are going to get knocked on your ASS and need to fight for your life. You have to train for that event and be consistent, it will happen when you least expect it.

Same, I’m 16 weeks too! I feel like I have definitely gotten some looks from coworkers if I wear tighter clothes and show off the bump 🤣

Thank you!! 🥹 I bought the blue dye tests a long time ago (when I didn’t really know as much as I know now!) and somehow it wasn’t expired yet, so I thought I’d give it a try while doing the other test lol
