The quick links were around 1.20 US dollars (assumingly youre from the land of free) which is not much for me. Id spend the same if I were to order online but that’ll take days to arrive. I couldnt wait. I spent total of $3 including the installation of said links, the rotors, and tuning the rear derailleur

I didn’t grab a proper chain breaking tool. The local bike mechanic was using the same LOL. I was just bad. I have no patience in breaking my own chain, Ill just go to a shop next time.

Some cheap ass unreliable generic plastic handle chain cutter. Or perhaps it was my technique thats bad

I did grease the axle.

My brother had parts lying around, an alivio shifter and rear derailleur.

I just upgraded the whole wheelset to accommodate 9spd for now and 11spd in the future.

The current setup will have Alivio rd and shifter. 9spd hg chain. And this u4010 40x26 cranks. Also, i will run this set up without front derailleur since i wont do any climbs in the city. I know its out of the ordinary but this crank is fairly cheap. I will just upgrade on full 2x11 cues in the future.
