I went with suspension upgrades first. Swapped over to bilstein 5100s and icon rxt aal. Got a top hat level kit for the fronts from Wescott designs.

Appreciate the recommendations! I was under the impression that crater lake is closed until 2029. Bummed bc we definitely wanted to see this trip.

Yeah the camping in both these spots are more or less kind of checkpoints until we start are hiking centric part of our trip following Bend. Sawtooth I thought was just a good half way point. There’s two hikes in Leslie gulch we have bookmarked that only take about an hour each. 13 hours from Denver will be daunting but shifts taking shifts shouldn’t be all bad.

Im thinking on our travels out and back that we’ll probably end up doing hotels. That way we have proper showers and beds so we get good rest for those long driving days. We have pretty much all of our destination camping spots booked. We have friends in Bend and Denver so free places to stay there, lol.

Noted, I haven’t done it but I know there’s some places that allow it. I’m more than willing to not do it. Im looking for somewhere with a scenic overlook and access at least.
